"...but that will have to wait for another time."
Really...? Like when? He's been saying the same shit for eons. "...something big is just on the horizon." "I've got some things I've been working on that I can't talk about right now." It goes on and on and on....
He takes the time to have his b-day message to the fans posted on FA but he's seemingly in such a hurry or sooooo busy that he can't elaborate on the things he himself brings up. He's been doing this for so long now that one day he actually will do something big and there won't be anybody there who gives a shit. I wonder if Mary ever read him the story of the little boy that cried wolf... Hmm.....

About Steve Perry

When Journey has appeared on concert bills with Heart, Cheap Trick and other '80s bands, Jonathan Cain thinks about former lead singer Steve Perry and what a great time he'd have.

"Do I miss Steve Perry every once in a while? Absolutely. Do I wish he was back on stage with us? Absolutely. Did I ever think Steve Perry would be gone? No. I thought he would be singing his entire life."

A reunion? "The door is open for him," Cain says.

An appearance, perhaps, at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? "I don't think we'll get the nod there," he says. "They keep bringing in other bands. But the day that will happen, I've got a red piano for them."

In some ways, Jonathan Cain's journey in the music industry is just beginning.

She is a cute little thing. i used to love watching all those cartoons. Love the necklace too. Just wanted to wish Steve a Happy Belated Birthday from both Jenna and I. Neither one of us have been near a computer lately. Hope it was a great one. So happy you got to meet somebody that meant so much to you. I love her smile. :D

Interesting to read what Jon says in the interview posted upstairs

JOURNEY’s first ever tour of Australia, with Deep Purple

Interview – Jonathan Cain, JOURNEY, December 2012

Feb 01, 2013

"Steve Perry had a certain character he played and he sang about in all the songs. When I got in the band I realised that and I stayed true to it. It was never about sex, drugs and rock and roll with Perry, it was the boy next door and he was playing that. So it would be very seldom that he would get the girl in the songs, you know, he’s always got a broken heart and he’s looking to fix it. So that was Steve Perry. When I joined the band I saw the character and we stayed true to it. I think I added the blue collar [element], if it was missing, in ’81 when I came in. Being a big fan of Bob Seger, I wanted to bring that… infuse that blue collar street guy into our songs."
