And just like all things that are too good to be true, this one has a catch…

Mike and I were talking this morning about what we would do if we won the more than half a beeeeeelion dollar Powerball Lottery drawing this Saturday. I said I would throw a free concert with the original Journey line-up. Mike clarified my statement and said that we will do that if one of us wins the entire jackpot without having to split it with anyone else. So get ready to rock with Journey and Steve Perry, El Paso!!!!!!!!*

PS...(THEY DIDN'T WIN THE POWERBALL LOTTERY).....
Perry's good natured bonhomie & the world’s most charmin smile, knocked fans off their feet. Sportin a black tux, gigs came alive as he swished around the stage thrillin audiences w/ charisma that instantly burnt the oxygen right out of the venue.TR.com

And Steve Perry was not part of the "original lineup".
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

And had a very short tenure with the band, before being fired for making too many excuses for not touring, when finally, he was replaced by Steve Augeri.

Doesn't seem that being an "original" member or having a "long tenure" is quite as important as actually being a "creative" member and having your writing credits on more of the top 40 hits than any other band member (and that includes Friga & Fro).
Being a great singer is wonderful but when your voice eventually goes, there goes your money maker. Songwriting lasts forever though (or when it comes to royalties, your lifetime plus 70 years after for your beneficiaries).

YES^^^^ ...but speaking of "TENURE" wasn't his still longer than Augeri, JSS, and Pineda? Perhaps even combined?

Perry spent 11 years with Journey, they just spanned 20 years.
Arnel is at 8 years and I think Augeri was at 7 or 8 years as well.
Gregg was at about 7 years, too.

Did my math backwards. Instead of 2012-2008=5 I went 2012-2005=8. Which also flawed Augeri's tenure. He was closer to 12 years. Actually active in Journey longer than Perry ...
