Well hey, that is pretty encouraging news that they are trying to talk and setting past feelings aside. Thats a huge step from even a few years ago. I'm sure its nowhere near a reunion type deal, but its still progress.

What does "TRYING" mean? Is he putting out feelers and they're holding back? No doubt Neal's been busy planning his Winter Blunderland Wedding and all. But still. Inquiring minds want to know. What reasons would everybody else have to NOT welcome Steve back at this time? Besides the obvious, I mean seriously, aren't you supposed to get wiser when you get older? If they did nothing more than got together with no pressure and just jammed for fun and themselves. I would be happy to hear that.

Plus, Steve seems ready to silence his critics and all the "haters". The fact that he sang briefly onstage in front of a live audience is his first tentative baby step back into show biz. Now do I expect to see him do a full blown tour? No, and I doubt if I'd really want him to. My enjoyment of his music does not depend on him keeping a throating shredding schedule to please anyone. Randy Jackson says he still has that Golden Voice. Maybe he finally believes it himself. :D

He hasn't talked to Neal. Pretty obvious. Just trying to answer an awkward question. They still speak through attorneys over royalties. All this fucking horseshit midget Neal brought up about "reaching out" to Perry never happened. But keep dreaming.

if the pace Perry has set by talking about putting out "something" is any indication... by the time he and Neal get done "trying to talk and setting past feelings aside"... they'll be over 100...

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

That guitary player will say and do anything trying to hang on and garner whatever spotlight. Like with that Winter "Blunderland" (That's a good one  ), throwing out Steve Perry's name to garner attention knowing Steve Perry would never set foot at that travesty, like no one else would. Rather strange having Bryan McKnight (who's that to Journey fans that might pay $14.99?) as the special guest. Guess Santana, Jimmy Page that guitary Schon chases after for attention could not make and would NOT make it.

Steve Perry on Journey Reunion: ‘We’re Trying’

After years of sending messages back and forth to each other in the press, it appears that Steve Perry and Neal Schon are seriously considering the idea of Perry returning to Journey. In a new interview, the singer reveals that the two are in discussions.

“We’re trying,” Classic Rock reports him as saying. “It’s tough. I’m doing my best in that area, and I can only do so much.”

Perry, who had a cancer scare last year, seems to be in a bit of a nostalgic and reflective mood. “The older I get, the more I do realize how important what we had all together and how it worked,” he added. “The older I get — like I said — the more I realize we brought that out of each other. I brought things out of them, and they certainly brought a lot of my vocal stuff out of me — just rising each other to this place that you can’t get alone. I think that’s probably the biggest chemistry thing I recognize now.”

Last summer, guitarist Schon posted a link to an interview with Perry on Facebook, and added some heartfelt words about his former frontman. “I hope we can can reach out to each other and connect once again,” he wrote. “We had amazing chemistry together. I love him with all the love and admiration you could even have. Steve, let’s talk soon.”

Perry recently collaborated on a track with electronic band AWOLNATION for their upcoming album, which will be his first appearance on record since working with Ambrosia’s David Pack in 2005.
