Shouldn't that be "Oh Sherrie" by Steve Perry? Kat Perkins sang "Open Arms" a few weeks ago. I linked to it in "The X Factor" thread. I'll have to watch it later. It was Latin Night on Dancing With The Stars.

'The Voice': Orlando mom rocks out, stuns America

Orlando singer Sisaundra Lewis showed Monday night that she has "The Voice" to beat. The mother of three delivered a stunning version of the rock classic "Oh Sherrie" that reaffirmed her status as the front-runner in the singing contest.

Mentor Blake Shelton suggested the song.

"I love Steve Perry," Lewis said in rehearsals.

"It could be absolutely shocking and exciting, and I think it's time to remind everybody that Sisaundra is here," Shelton said.

The NBC singing contest saved Lewis for the show's conclusion. She delivered a fierce vocal, moved around the stage with confidence and unleashed a big note to end the song.


The studio audience reacted with a thunderous ovation.

"You had an incredible performance, and it's going to definitely benefit you," Usher told her.

"There used to be a roof in here, but it's gone," Adam Levine said. "We're going to need a new roof, but thank you for blowing it off. That was once again out of this atmosphere."

A thrilled Shelton called the performance unbelievable and told Lewis, "You make me look so smart, and nobody's ever been able to do that."

Levine agreed on that point, saying: "You've achieved something so rare."

Before the performance, Shelton had promised: "America is going to see a mom get on this stage and rock out."

Lewis did it with finesse.

The results will be revealed at 8 p.m. Tuesday on WESH-Channel 2. The Top 10 will be reduced to the Top 8, who will perform next Monday. The winner will be named May 20.
