So What Now?

Steve's return to stage was beyond great. So what happens next and when? I'm guessing he "buckles down" to finish an album's worth of material for a release in Q1 2015. Followed by some select live dates and a number of TV appearances. Thoughts?

If his past history is any indication..

he stays retired.

My thoughts are that Steve is resting after his trip to Europe and damning his demons because he chose not to sing with the Eels while there in Europe, maybe even reading some reviews of his recent return to the stage with them. I also think he has been offered engagements to sing and maybe an offer from Sony and/or others to record with them. These companies know a money making opportunity when they see one and, of course, the offers would go up, money wise, if any offer could ever get him with Journey. But I don't expect that to ever happen in my lifetime.:( Or he is contemplating just putting it out there on ITunes. Just as it was so hard for him to take the step to sing again, it will take him time to let it all sink in before making a decision that is best for him. Again, this decision may not happen in my lifetime but "somewhere there's hope :)" . He just may decide it is all not worth the hassle OR he may say “Here I go again. Am I crazy or what???” I opt for the latter.

My thoughts on all of this is that he realizes this singing gig with the Eels will ebb and flow. He'll have the passion sometimes
and sometimes he won't. Sometimes he might just have the fear. These are my thoughts. It's going to be a gradual thing. Once
the excitement was over that he actually did it; I think the hard part will be doing it again. I'm sure there are quite a few offers his way but there was some struggling in not shutting down again and not doing anything. So, I think we will just have to
wait and see if he can get through this, calm himself down and realize that it was fun; nothing bad happened. He really had
a good time and the offers will have to wait. It's like sticking your foot in the pool, you really can't tell if you're going to drown
or not but at least your foot got wet.

If only we had a crystal ball so we could look into the future to see if Steve will be recording and performing again. He looked so happy to be back on stage again in those appearances with the Eels, nervous (understandably) but happy. We know from past interviews that Steve does miss performing, and judging by the response to his recent cameos, his fans have certainly missed him too. The man has such an incredible musical talent, I really hope he does share that with us again.

I for one am very curious as to what SP is up to now...it seems strange that he's simply "disappeared" again after three very successful performances.

I suspect he's recording material and/or putting a backing band together (Eels perhaps?). Have the Eels been performing lately?

Hmmm...

wow,
a flurry of activity from Steve in April-May-June. And now nothing.
What ever happened to his book? You would think publishers would be all over that, or maybe it was written just for his own healing? Whatever he is up to I hope he is enjoying life and wer get to hear from him again.

Hopefully Steve didn't go back into seclusion again. It was great to see him out and getting the well deserved attention a few months back. Weird he did those performances and seemed so into it, then nothing again. Maybe he is working on something behind the scenes.

Hopefully, he is really working on something to put out there. Could it be that we have not heard anymore from him recently due to any company who may wish to place him under contract stating he may not perform in public once in consideration of said contract? Or could his recent seclusion indicate he may, indeed, be under contract or in serious consideration of that contract? I continue to believe..... :)
