You know things are different on American Idol when a Golden ticket winner like Stephanie Gummelt references her love for Steve Perry, and we don't have Randy Jackson at the table to remind us all he played with him.

But viewers had a glimpse of the old days on Wednesday night's episode in Kansas City when Leo Sayer wannabe Ian Subsara tried to make the judges feel like dancing, and Harry Connick Jr. went to his piano and got Subsara to push his limited vocal limits to attempt a high "C."

Haha! I thought that was so cool. This was a young girl and she's talking about the Journey singer who was singing years ago and she knows so much about him it was crazy and she blushed when I think it was Harry who made a reference to Mr Perry by saying...come on out Steve" as if he was back stage and would walk out from behind the curtain. I thought it was such an accolade to the man and his voice. Hope he realizes how many people from the very young to older love that voice and him as well!
