1. He was the best ever in a high tenor range - once you're past 40 this range is very difficult to maintain without a lot of work. I think Steve's expectations are just as high now as they were then. I would hope Steve would continue to work to keep his range but his fans would except a lot less, pretty much anything he is willing to give us.
2. The 94 solo tour was not the right music, he was reliant on the Journey material - I believe this is right. FTLOSM record was decent, but it was not Journey capable material, and it was detuned as compared to his previous work. With his own expectations, I'm not sure anything less than optimum will be acceptable to him (his fans would disagree)
3. Steve is his own worst critic - I love this about Steve and hate it as well. I believe his expectations are over the GD moon just like mine, if it's not the best ever, in any area, then it's not good enough. I think this is where Steve lives and I'm with him, I want the be best all the time. However, I think Steve's fans would be more forgiving knowing his capability while recognizing his age. I would recommend he take the same approach as Delp did in last tour with Boston, hit what you can and get a guy that can help to supplement (call me

4. If nothing else, get out and support your fans - dude just get on with it. Your in your 60's, your fans would support you if you we're dropping turds on stage, and they're expectations are different than yours. You may fall over tomorrow, just get on with it and give us something we remember. Just get out and show us some stuff. Work on your range and go for it on occasion, we'll forgive you if you miss, it's all about having the balls to swing. Give us some love bro.
