WOW, that surprises me.

Hmmm, guess he likes ALL kinds of music. NIN isn't my cup of tea, but to each his own.
"as long as they have to carry DSB as their banner, it looks like Perry will be right there with them as an overseer, ready to wield his veto power on all things Classic Journey." As quoted by Don on 12/7/2010

No, I have a lot of friends in L.A. who go to all the very same shows.
When a celebrity like Perry is in the house, a PUBLIC PLACE, it isn't unusual that people that are there know about
it and tell people about it.

I hope you notice that I don't say where Perry is at the time he is there, even though I could.
I would never do that!

Wow, I wouldn't think NIN would be Perry's kind of music. Maybe his next album is gonna be a rocker.

Still, however, I'd like to see some real evidence that he was at this show.

Well, this is a Steve Perry forum, so I thought Steve Perry fans would like to know what cool things
Perry likes to do. For those who have said that Perry is reclusive, hey that man is just everywhere..... Giants three days, then Mew, now NIN... He's a happening fellow.

Then Journey is on Early Morning America, but everyone is talking about Perry now all over the internet, not Journey, or Arnel..........
Just crazy what effect Steve Perry has had even after being fairly silent for 15 years................. 8)

Ah, gotcha. Some people make up whatever they want to when it comes to SP. The same goes for certain people who spend 24/7 trying to force their thoughts about Journey with AP down people's throats. Must be something about the person who sings the Journey catalog.

No, in regard to the Journey show this morning on CBS. People are writing about Steve Perry, missing Steve Perry,
not happy about Journey without Steve Perry, on and on about SP instead of writing about Arnel and how Journey did this morning
on CBS. Even when the CBS show was about Journey, people don't want to write about that, they write about SP.

Are you taking your sampling from a Steve Perry forum? I find it hard to believe that you have read every opinion on the entire internet about Journey's performance on the CBS Early SHow and can say with certainty that that everyone all over the internet says they are missing SP.

I think we need a song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sD8hqHSyYxw

My kid loves this show, Phineas & Ferb, and in every episode they say, "where's Perry?, where's Perry?" (Perry is their platypus...who wears a hat much like the "Oh, Sherrie" one - lol.)

I have not read every opinion on the internet, and you are right, saying "everyone" was too much, but there are a lot of posts in many places this morning about the CBS show and the trend seems to be more about Perry than about the Journey show. That was my point.

This't IS a Steve Perry message board not the New York Times. Some of you make some of the others feel that they are breaking some sort of ethics code by bringing news of the man here. Like Lula wrote, don't read the post if you arn't interested. The man loves this "stuff." He wrote that he enjoyed all the sexy things that the gals wrote for his birthday. He signs autographs and he is happy that his fans havn't forgotten him. If you can't find anything of interest to post on this, his message board, then shut the hell up and scroll by.
PEACE!

I agree there Lora...exactly why I don't Tweet. But on the subject at hand here, it's good that Perry is out enjoying his life. Hell, I don't know anyone who doesn't enjoy getting out and having a good time. I went to a NIN Concert one time a few years ago with my oldest son and his wife. Not exactly something that is on my Playlist, but their show Rocked! I'm just saying.... 8) 8) 8) 8)

I agree with Lora too, when Twitter is used for stalking purposes and there is no doubt it is, i.e. (see the Rare pics thread). However, twitter is also an application that has significant benefits by disseminating instant and current information to many thousands of people simultaneously. Twitter is being used effectively in providing instant information about the L.A. fires, evacuation orders, etc. It's a great tool for receiving information about upcoming shows, events, and traffic jams. The list goes on and on. Twitter can be used in a good and bad way, it depends on the nature of the person using it. Just like
someone with a gun in their hand, depends on the user how it will be used.

You know, people still use their cell phones too, and not all information received comes from twitter.

So when a celebrity shows up at a public event, and your friend, NIN fan who is attending the show, knows you are a SP fan, calls you to say,
Hey, I'm at the NIN show and Steve Perry is standing three people away from me? Isn't that cool?
Is that stalking?

Just my opinion, but signing autographs, receiving birthday wishes and appreciating your fans are a whole different thing than some fans knowing his every move in his personal life and stalking the guy at ball games for pics, etc. Sorry but I don't think he would love that "stuff". :? Most of the ball game pics look like pics taken without his knowledge. Seriously, there is some bizarre fans out there that know waaaay more about the man's personal life than I'm sure he'd feel anything but comfortable with. Believe me, I'm a major Perry fan too (and EM/JSS).....but I don't feel the need to know where they live or details about their family/personal lives.....unless they themselves are freely disclosing them. I will be the first to admit to being a passionate fan when it comes to my favorite vocals/music, but there are some that search out personal info about gf/wife/kid(s), where they live, yearbooks, birth certificates, etc., is a total invasion of privacy IMO and just kinda creeps me out.

Where is the proof that Perry had to put up with any of that? Poster's have been talking about it for years but I have yet to see it myself. How do any of you get this information about how his privacy has been invaded. It must have started some where but I think that a lot of it has been made up as the years go by. I don't remember Perry ever mentioning it being a problem.I'm sure that he would begin to wonder if he was being forgotten if people just gave him sideway glance's and were afraid to approach him.
This crap has been all blown out of proportion.

They are not just stories, I know of fans out there that know where he (and/or his daughter) lives (or think they do  ) and have his school yearbooks, copies of birth certificate, personal information that is really none of our business. I don't think he probably even knows half of what some obsessed fans have dug up.

I think Perry himself mentions something about it in a past FA Q&A.

*Edit: Found it.

24) Can you define your desire of how the relationship between you and your fans would be? What is the right balance between a persons passion for your art versus respect for your privacy?

SP: Good one. That's tough for I get star struck too, so I think the bottom line is ....If you love the music? Love the music..... but please don't park in front of my house and stalk me. Where's the love in that?

That has nothing to do with what has been happening here on the Mr. site. Some news of his getting out and around and signing autographs is a far cry from what has happened in the past. I suppose that there are a lot of nuts that live near him and probably give him grief since he is Perr-man.

Just saying that we should lighten up on the posters who are interested in how he looks of late and his musical interests.
