Please be absolutely specific as to what your intentions are, who you're talking about and what you're talking about. Thanks in advance.

:? SJ may have strong opinions that are not always popular in the Steve Perry forum, but he is not a troll! A troll is a jerk who says whatever he (or she) thinks will bait and upset someone else, but I think SJ is pretty honest about how he feels - I just don't usually agree with him.

special concert was announced
tix went on sale
tix sold out
concert was performed
meet & greet happened
videos were posted

something then went wrong & now all evidence of this is gone. forever.
sorry to those who missed out.

Damnit, I missed out again - I knew I should have put the Steve Perry signal on my phone! First the concert in Hawaii and now this.

If Steve did what he was told we'd have heard from him long before now. I'd think that somehow some messages would have trickled through to him.

Spot on. Let Perry bask in his litter box. He might be producing a shit load of songs, burps and macarena remixes, but we would have heard it by now, if he was to release anything. :)

Rumors abound for sure regarding a new CD from Steve Perry. However, those rumors become more credible when someone like Randy Goodrum (songwriter for Foolish Heart and Oh Sherrie) says this on his official website biography, www.randygoodrum.com, then those rumors grow legs.

"Randy is currently writing new material for an upcoming project of Steve's as well. More on that later." 8)

Even that has been around for a few months now. Not taking anything away from Steve's talent, but he is such a perfectionist that at this point in his life it may never be right enough for release. I think that may be what's been plagueing him for so long. I honestly believe he has new music and has had for some time. Anyway, that's my take on it.

When I think of the possibilities of why no release yet, what comes to mind first is what Steve wants and needs, what has motivated him to do anything with music at this point of his life. Remember, what he seems to enjoy most is the process of collaborating with other musicians. He can continue to write, record, collaborate and produce his music without releasing it and still really enjoy himself during the process. I don't think the release date or the money from CD sales is front and center on his mind. I would be happy as a fan to know that he is just having a very good time with his friends collaborating on new material. Maybe Perry will be like VanGogh, where much of his finest work is discovered after his passing. :(

Yup. Take him out to the ball park. Somebody should just drag his ass to a Journey concert and sneak him back stage. Then, just like releasing a Dove, you hold him by his shoulders, him facing the stage, let go and say sing Stevie, sing!

I dunno. I don't think someone can just drag Perry's ass to a Journey concert...sounds like a whole lotta chloroform and duct tape involved there, SteveO. ...but like I said, I wouldn't know...

I have to agree with you that maybe Steve loves the whole process of collaborating with other musicians
and that he is such a perfectionist, that could be causing all the delay of his new music.

But I certainally don't want his finest work discovered after his passing, like VanGogh! Oh NO! :(

Please someone send him an SOS and let him know we want to here from him this year with a birthday message at Fan Asylum.

Peace.

Hey there....fixed the link for ya. There was a comma at the end. 8)

I went to the site, and it was just a typewritten page in VERY small font. :x I hit the magnifying glass thing to make the type bigger; STILL couldn't read it.

EDIT: Found it.....8th paragraph down.

Take it anyway you like, I'm only the messenger.

Why do you need rumors to grow legs? Perry said himself in the radio interview he was definitely working on new music. Tt came straight from the horse's mouth.

Yep, that's right. However, he didn't say he was working with Randy Goodrum. Randy's comments give us more information about the content of the project I think. i.e. (more legs).

EDIT: Found it.....8th paragraph down.
