I'm not the least bit disappointed, I knew there was no announcement of a new CD.

Face it people, the guy can't sing anymore. And Lora, please don't bother with How do I know? If he could he would, simple.

I will continue to listen to his old stuff, but to expect anything else at this point is just a waste of time.

Why be disappointed? Besides screwing up my March prediction that is.
Seriously, As long as I have access to the Infinity through Frontiers Albums, I can't think of him providing me with anything better than that.

Hey, only if you set yourself up for it....which I didn't. I loved the interview.

WHAT WAS THERE TO LOVE? Seriously?
It's like when Paul McCartney (who is freakin God to me) pulls out the same old story about how he dreamt "Yesterday". BORING. NOTHING THE FANS HAVEN'T HEARD BEFORE.

Come on, tell us something NEW. Tell us you're plans. Don't just say the stuff that you've already thrown out there a bazillion times.

To have a gift like that and not use it is a crime. No wonder the band gave up on him.

"I never thought that not being on stage would be such a vacancy in my chest.

I have just been quiet........

The immediate response of the audience as approval or disapproval, I never realized how important it is to me.

I am admitting to you live right now that I miss"

He's been saying this for so many years, nothing new, and the demo thing is shocking after all the supposed "in the know" people were saying new album, 2009, 2010. I will follow common sense from now on. If Perry were truly putting out something, it wouldn't be a secret. He needs the publicity for sales. I will wait for an official announcement, if there ever is one, which seems unlikely, but possible.

For someone who always, all these years, talks wistfully about how much he misses performing, it's kind of sad to me that there's something holding him back from doing something that gives him joy.

I invited him to MELODICROCKFEST and was turned down. The door is always open Steve.... let's go!!!

Maybe if it was the MR FEST BASEBALL GAME and concert. Have the concert after the game, that way he can get home to his cats early.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

This is all so funny and so sad at the same time but i have been telling everyone he is done, finished, retired for 3 years now. He continues to fool all of you and he probably in the back of his mind even fools himself at times. For the reason he can't and won't do this, no one knows for sure. But everytime he speaks (the last 16 years) people get there hopes up and all for not. NO 1 releases a CD and just lets it die with the winter blues. You have to promote it, you have to let eyes see you on various channels and AI, Dave Letterman, ETC.. would be a great way to start. He's done ZERO for years. Someone told me three years ago they saw perry in a store in the same isle and Perry bent slightly to grab a case of Mt. Dew and that person said he saw a FORK sticking out of Perry's back.

I will look forward to all of you bashing me (TO A CERTAIN EXTENT) and i really prey i'm 100 percent wrong but again, common sense tells you to sell a product you have to rename yourself so to speak. Ask yourself one question. Do you see any other singer who's releasing a CD so somber and quiet that no one knows it's coming out.

IMO, if I were him; I'd not give another interview. (although he seems to like the opportunity to talk) I wouldn't give anyone another piece of me or my time. Celebrity is a sonofabitch. You love it and you hate it. The man gves a little of himself and instead of taking it and appreciating his comments; people are up in arms reacting negatively and start judging him because he did not address what they thought they wanted to hear. Everyone expected to hear him talk about his music and asking what ever happened to his new CD. He never said what he was going to talk about and certainly he never said he was going to release music. Instead he spent a little bit of time talking about how hard his life has been and trying to conquer some of the difficulties he's experienced. But being the good people that we are; we aren't listening to him tell us that life was hard and he's been having a difficult time. No, instead here we are trashing him, pointing out his missteps, chastising him for not being the singer we want him to be; talking about his not having the voice to sing anymore; just adding to his already considerable concerns. He's a man. He's a man who loves to sing. As he said, he's not as agile as he use to be and probably can't do all that he did when on stage. WTF? Is that even remotely possible? (What does he seem to be saying) So here he is asking for a bit of understanding maybe the only way he knows how and as usual we only consider what it is we want. He's just the singer of the songs and not to be considered a man with a considerable amount of feelings. Get rid of the dream, throw out the fantasy and deal with reality. It ain't the 80s anymore.

Perry's TBF vocal take may have reared its ugly head. And to us (the public) it sounds good, better than most artists today. But to him, now you know what the answer was.

Judging by all your words, you forgot to tell yourself. Did you just remember to tell us that convenient hearsay story after three years? Is there a tell all book coming? By the way, he doesn't fool me. Everything seems pretty obvious and makes perfect sense, just like his statement about not feeling like a part of the band. In this interview and the GQ interview in '08 he seemed to have explained himself and situations quite well.

The longevity of DSB and the popularity of this song through the years is something most singer/song writers dream of and hope for in the songs they write and sing. Steve has said the songs he writes are like his children and to be asked after all these years to talk about them or a certain song because the song is creeping back up the charts again and will be in the Top 10 is an amazing feet. I am sure it's a feeling Steve hopes will never go away. It's a song that Steve is very proud of and more than happy to talk about. The interview wasn't meant to be earth shattering with big news it was to talk about a song that means alot to Steve and of course to the fans and the added conversation about him having some personal strife and pain and how DSB and TBF helped him....writing songs and wanting to be a DJ are added bonuses to the interview. When he feels his has something to say through his music he will but until then lets just enjoy that Steve did an interview today and it was about something he's very proud of. :D

your posts aren't making much sense to me. sp has not released a cd recently, nor has he mentioned an imminent release date, so there is no reason to promote it at this time. are you angry because you believed an imaginary release date? or do you believe that a cd has already been released & nobody told you about it?

No Cyndy, this is coming from alot of past mentions of him recording things some of the last 4-8 years. Other people on here believe he will not as well. I said i prey i'm so wrong about him having a new CD out but i just have little faith. Time has gone by on him. He's now 61.

You're still not making all that much sense. Just because he's said he has been writing or making demos doesn't mean anything. People take "writing" to mean "album coming out". Then, 3 years later, no album, and it becomes "but...but... he said he was writing!"

Recorded demos doesn't mean that either. Demo = rough draft. Did you people listen to the same thign I did? Jeez, he flat out SAID that nothing has been "started". There's your answer guys!! He gave the answer... just not the one some of you wanted. You people are odd. You're upset because something that was never said isn't happening.
