It was probably due to the PM-reading. At the time, I was extremely annoyed, but now I should probably be glad because I feel like all of that memorabilia I bought was a complete waste of money and now I have to resell it. lol

But yeah that site was where I first saw the pic that made me fall in love with SP, so I'll give it that.

LOL I remember that, I don't think she liked it when I mentioned you were one of the people it would have been cool to meet that weekend. I knew her MO right away when she was all bent out of shape about Jill and Gary. SP was great with them. Two of the sweetest, give you the shirt off their back, type people on the planet. Good friends to this day, have come down and gone to a couple JSS shows with them since. Jill was just too damn cute........when SP was giving out hugs, she was one of the last people he got to and she was all a flutter and almost crying when he got to her, he even commented to her, "awww you're crying" and then hugged her too. Gary caught a bit of it on video and you could hear him snicker behind the camera at Jill's trying to hold it together. It was Priceless!

That was cute - loved seeing that all captured on tape for us (although, wasn't there "drama" with Kathy involving that, too?)...btw, how are Jill and Gary? I remember she had that cool cake made for a get-together once at the WOF.

Yes, she tried to own that too......wasn't even her clip. :? There was a big shmazzle with the pics too. After.......any of us that had a camera that day decided to download all the pics and share them amongst all of us to have on a picture cd for memories. Although we knew K was going to be adding some on PV, they weren't actually for public consumption but were posted on the site anyway, even though some didn't want that and one, Kacey even wanted hers pulled too. One major blow out was on Kathy wanting to put some of the pics on things (cups/mousepad) for auctions. A couple of us had issues with that. Ami (my friend from Burbank), asked K to run it by Lora if that was even something that SP would even be cool with. K said they were our pics to do with what we wanted. :o I said no harm in running it by Lora first is there? She didn't like that. Big fight insued and Ami put her foot down, since the one K wanted to use came from Ami's camera and said NO way. Then we were told we were being disloyal, etc. :? Too many similar instances I didn't agree with, so I left PV. Blah blah blah..........too much drama for me. God only knows what/if happened with any of our pics after we left. The queen bee thing got to be a bit much and truth be told that could have easily been another site or fan gathering that it happened to. Don't want to badmouth K, it's water under the bridge. She can easily come in and dispute this if she wishes, but I doubt she will, as she and others know it is fact. I have no idea about the MAWF $$s, but I hope to God that's not true.

Tammy, Cindi talks to Jill more often than I do. Last time I saw them was when I was down for a JSSB show at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. They had invited me, Cindi and Crazy Deb to stay at their place that night. We all had a blast! They're good people, total music lovers too. :)

There's a producer too, named Steve Perry
and a Porn star also.

Will the real Steve Perry please stand up?

The demise of Perryville discussion has been quite the topic in terms of page count.

Here's the Count.

Single Word Thread 784 pages
Obama Thread 80 Pages
Strange, Odd, Rude, Sexy or Funny Thread 65 pages
Songs Not Heard in Ages 26 pages
Haunting Melodies 25 pages
Current Favorite Song 11 pages
Perryville demise 10 pages

I think the topics indicate what MR people seem to be most interested in.

1) Games i.e the single word thread
2) Politics i.e. Deano's rants
3) Strange Odd, Rude, Sexy or Funny things (never looked at this but I can only imagine)
4) Music (Songs from the past, haunting melodies and current songs)
5) Someone getting their ass kicked - Perryville

So, carry on.........

I doubt she would be that ballsy after all she did some pretty over the top things that weekend that made her look more like a stocker than a fan.....She left many of us shaking our head and wondering where her's was :)

Well, by the tales told in this thread, it sounds like a lot of people are happy to see it go. I say, let's them celebrate. I'm just glad I never got involved. Good lord, it sounds like a lot of people went through needless drama with it.

Me too. Score one for the bullshitometer. I joined and got totally perplexed at just which picture of Perry's ass was a link to a forum or a thread or the self-destruct button. That was the wildest hodge podge of *finger quotes* "design" *end finger quotes* I've ever seen. Were there even words there? Justalittletoomuch. Justalittle.

I haven't been on the forum for a few days but after reading this thread, I want to attempt to clear up the saga at the WOF one last time. SP made a spur-of-the-moment decision to show up and surprise the fans gathered at the star. He knew about the gathering because CP & I were in L.A. on a business trip and talked to him the day before. He knew we were planning on meeting a group of fans at the star the next day. He was also in town on business and thought it would be neat to pop in and say hello. It was not pre-arranged by Kathy or anyone else. The visit had nothing to do with which group of fans were there.

It was a really special day and one I will always remember. One of the fans there, Chrissy, has since died. I hung out with her a bit that day because she seemed so nervous and shy and I wanted to make sure she did talk to Steve. After she met SP, she turned to talk to his bodyguard. She told him, "I've met Steve Perry. Now I can die happy." I found out months later that she did die of cancer. I believe the meeting that day at the star was for Chrissy and I'm really grateful that she saw one of her dreams realized.

Wow. I'm usually far too cynical to be moved by mushy stuff like this, but, I must admit, Lora, that was beautiful. Very touching. Blessings on both Chrissy & Mr. Perry.

Awwww. I remember us all going for lunch after and right in the middle of lunch her eyes watered and you could tell it had just sunk in who the heck we had just met! No one knew she had cancer, I'm not sure if she even knew at the time. She was such a sweet person and God must have needed another angel pretty badly to pull her from her husband/children so young.

Thanks for sharing that Lora. That was truly a magical day for Chrissy. I don't know her and after reading all of your posts about her, it is my loss that I did not get to meet her. May she Rest In Peace.

On another note, this is my first 10 pager! I never would have thought it when I started the thread. Does this mean I'm official now? 8) 8)

She was such a sweet person and God must have needed another angel pretty badly to pull her from her husband/children so young.

It was so much fun going to lunch with everyone. Like you, I could tell she was deeply moved by the whole thing. She talked about her husband and kids a lot and in such a loving way. I exchanged a few emails with her in the days following the meeting but then lost touch. How terribly sad that she was taken from her family so young.

I joined PV the fall after the meeting. They were still talking about it big time. When I joined, like all the others I was welcomed with open arms. Then I had my run in with Kathy. Don't even remember what it was about truth be told. But the red warning flags came out and I was very careful in my dealings with her after that. What really turned me around about the site was the way Kathy could get your hopes up so high with every "Steve Perry is coming out with a CD by whatever time". One time she had our hopes up so high that the crash was really bad. I never trusted anything she said after that nor any talk about Steve coming out with a CD since. Like everyone else who's been on PV, I've met some long lasting friends. That's something that Kathy can not break apart. If she's alone now it's by her own doing. I can't feel sorry for her. Not now.

Lora thank you. I am glad that Chrissy had a chance to meet Steve and have a dream realized. Chrissy seems like a very nice person and it is so sad that she was taken too soon and young.

That picture of Steve with her is a very special picture. To know that Steve gave her one of the happiest days of her life
and then her life ended so young, wow. Thank you for sharing the story and her picture.
