Yes Jeremey let hope it's comming sooner than later 8)

It shouldn't be too much longer---- 10 or 15 years tops!!!

You are bad J and will pay for that one big boy
Here's the thing that gets my panties in a bunch....(pun intended).

All along when the talk was about that there was a new SMFP cd coming, all the naysayers kept saying "When I hear it from the horses mouth, then I'll believe it". Well, it's been heard straight from the horses mouth, he didn't say, I'm "working" on a new cd, he said it is his plan to release a new CD.

And still they don't believe it. I don't get it, quite frankly.

I guess some people won't believe it even when they have it in their hot little hands.

Remember Against The Wall? This time definately looks promising, moreso than in the past. But so many Perry fans have been burned by the man so many times that it has become a self-defense mechanism to dismiss his words until they come to fruition. When the CD hits the shelves I am SO there to buy it. Until then, I don't hold my breath or concern myself with it. I don't anxiously await it. I think we all know it is easier to not believe in things we don't see....faith is a tough nut!
I agree with you, JM, on the premise that faith is a tough nut. Here is where I delve just a bit deeper. Against the Wall was not released because Sony had ulterior motives, I believe. Whether or not they just didn't believe it would sell, no one knows. However, Steve was contracted with Sony at that time. He is no longer under any obligation to any record company, nor is he dependent on someone to release it for him. He could do it all by his little lonesome if he wants. And most of us true fans know that when Perry gets something in his head that he wants to do, he doesn't stop until it's accomplished (ie: Whose Cryin Now outro, Smith and Valory dismissals). That's one reason I truly believe it this time.

On the other hand though, I am enough in reality (not much, but enough ) After all, how much in reality can a true loon be. that it won't ruin my entire life being if it doesn't happen. My life doesn't depend on Steve Perry releasing a new CD. But the hope and faith is there for me this time.

Journeyrock, my point is that you said Perry was quoted as saying "it's his plan to release a new CD". Well, it was his plan with Against The Wall. Shit happens, that's all. True, Perry has more control now. But he will still need to find a deal for distibution at least. There will be factors to releasing the CD and something could interfere. Gawd I hope it doesn't. And gawd I hope this one is not FTLOSM II....
I hope it isn't FTLOSM also. Don't get me wrong, I loved parts of that album, but there were songs on it I just didn't care for. I want something more along the lines of Street Talk/Against the Wall. Just a little more rockin. Hopefully, by now, he's a little more at peace with himself. You get the program when you get it, and I sincerely hope he is there at this stage. And I too, hope nothing happens to flub up the release of this CD.
"as long as they have to carry DSB as their banner, it looks like Perry will be right there with them as an overseer, ready to wield his veto power on all things Classic Journey." As quoted by Don on 12/7/2010
