Hell....just make [b]one or 2 VIDEOS, for God's sake!

While Clive Davis is masterful at his craft, he is with Sony, so I'm guessing S**P won't be taking his call. Likewise, Herbie Herbert is a genius at what he does, but again, I'm guessing Perry's not taking that call either.

How can Perry repair a 16 year gap in his career?

er.. maybe he just wants to to "do some songs, have a little fun"... who said anything about repairing a 16 year gap or resurrecting a career?

Perry walked away on his own terms, no farewell tour, no huge pomp and circumstance... he simply stopped. If history is any indication, most likely he'll return the same way - he'll just "do some songs"...

He wouldn't have to tour to do a video, would he? Just do another setup like "I Stand Alone".

Nobody, it was just a hypothetical question. I doubt he'll do anything more than release a CD and do some interviews. I really don't think he's interested in resurrecting his career.

In today's music world you may right.
I might just be stuck in 80's ...forgetting that today using the internet and a couple of videos on cable channels and the net do mean alot.

I truly wish he'd come back too.

SP could wail like no one else. I give him his due there.

Heck I think he sounded good on TBF and I stand alone.

I'm still smarting over missing his last concert here in Memphis in 94' :(

Honestly - a miracle. his voice is shot. That is evident as far back as ROR.

Just ride off into the sunset, Steve.

I have loved TBF since the first time I bought it -- back in 2005 (when I became a fan) ... listened to that and watched GH Live dvd every night for 3 weeks straight. Family thought I was off my rocker. The remastered TBF is truly magnificent. Sonically, their music and vocals never better, imo.

I agree Steve should surround himself with a cutting-edge producer and some outstanding session musicians to make the updated version of Street Talk. There were a couple of great songs on FTLOSM but, overall, missed the mark.

As someone said, no tour necessary, just do a couple of interview shows and release a video (like I Stand Alone ...he was mesmerizing in that). Didn't know anything about Quest for Camelot, but when I heard he sang in that movie, bought the dvd off Ebay. Took me 10 minutes to figure how to get to the video portion and, boy, when he started to sing with the orchestra surrounding him, my mouth gaped from the first note to that last extended reach that only SP can do.

As his faithful fans, I think we would all like to hear him sing (and add that 1 last album to our collection) before we call it a day.

 Why is it shot? Just because he can't sing as high as he used to? Is that all that matters to you? Only that?

He was still the greatest singer ever on TBF. His voice was slightly different, but what he lost in range he made up with many other things.

His voice is shot? Get a clue.

Shot??? As far back as ROR??? Are you completely deaf.
The vocals on ROR are THE single greatest vocals EVER laid to vinyl or cd.
Apart from a few shows on the Strange Medicine tour, his vocals were still supreme.
Just because he chooses NOT to sing, does NOT mean he can NOT sing.

I don't know if he can still sing, but I have to agree regarding his vocals on ROR. They were far different from the early years, but he was still great.

I've spoken to Russ Miller, who recently recorded with him, and he said that SP "sounded great, as usual."

Russ is one of my favorite drummers and I've spoken to him many times over the years. He didn't say very much, but was very complimentary of Steve's singing.

Can he still hit notes like he did in 1978? Don't know, but that sure as hell doesn't mean that he can't sing or that his voice is shot.

I'm betting that his voice will be incredible, as always, no matter what key he's singing in.

Why would you say "not anymore" ?

JDK and SP have been friends for a long time.

JDK has always said that his favorite sound in the world is Mr. p's voice.

On his new site JDK talks about spending a lot of time in Nashville working on a few projects. It also seems that Mr. P has been spotted in and out of Nashville more than a few times this year.

He doesn't need Kalodner or Herbert.
All he needs to do, if he wishes to, is pick up the phone and call his good friend Randy Jackson.
The like of Kalodner and Herbert have little power these days, whereas Jackson, i would imagine, is in a position to do great things for Perry if he was approached.

 Seriously, why would anybody even suggest an old dinosaur like Clive Davis to do anything other than take a dump in the am? That guy is worthless. Whitney is done; that old coot can't see the forest for the trees.

FWIW, I doubt Perry will ever tour again. If he wanted to, he already would have.
