I am a dudette. I was nervous about posting here because I thought everyone was in the music biz.JasonD wrote:Tennessee wrote:Hey ya'll, I am very happy to be joining the crazy house since I live in a zoo.I am from a very small town in East TN about thirty miles from Knoxville. As for the pic, it is obvious that Steve is either in pain or doesn't want to be there or both. I just couldn't figure why whoever chose that picture would. It is TERRIBLE.
And for me thinking you all were music experts, this is where the ADD figures in. I thought the titles that came with the avatars were actual jobs!
Still, I have read a lot of posts and found a lot a good info and pics here. Seems like a good group. Thanks for the welcome.

Don't feel bad, dude (or dudette). I think we all thought that at one point in time. When I first came here I was honored to be posting among so many Studio Engineers & Record Producers & whatnot.![]()

I was laughing but I realized when I used to lurk I thought at first there were studio engineers on here and such, too, and that others just made up stuff like certifiably insane as a title. So I can't laugh at you about that.

He's The Godfather of Melodicrock.
Saint John wrote:Tennessee wrote: Steve looks so sad and pained compared to the rest of the group.
The anxiety and guilt leading up to what he was about to do had to be killing him. At the very least it shows that he had some sort of conscience.
Tennessee wrote:Hi Sherriberry, I like all kinds of music. Bruce is always a fave. I like Bryan Adams in the "80s. I don't know much about him now. I tend to listen to a lot of "classic rock". Steve Perry and Journey of course. But, I like The Beatles, Warren Zevon, Nilsson, The Doors, The Who, Deep Purple, The Guess Who, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin. Hell, name a band from the 60's, 70's and 80's and I probably like them. Or at least something that they perform. Oh yeah, Steely Dan and can't for get Boz Scaggs.
I didn't get to see Bryan Adams, (love his duet with Tina Turner and Run To You is very sexy) or too many artists for that matter, but, I had a choice of either going to my senior prom or seeing ZZ Top with Sammy Hagar in Knoxville. No formal for me. I don't remember much, but, I was told I had a great time.SherriBerry wrote:Tennessee wrote:Hi Sherriberry, I like all kinds of music. Bruce is always a fave. If you love Bruce, you're golden - the Deano is a huge Springsteen fan and a Bryan Adams fan too (just a heads up).I went AWOL from a summer job one night in '91 to see Bryan Adams when he came to my little hometown in the mountains and played an outdoor concert. My boss pulled a fast one and there was no way I was missing it, so I closed up early and didn't say anything - I figured if she found out and fired me, I only had 2 more weeks before I was back to college. Never did that before or after, but it was Bryan Adams!
I love Classic Rock too - I'm glad I was born in the 70s, because I can't imagine having the music of today as the soundtrack of my youth.
Thanks Laydee. Are you from Tennesse, too? I agree about the picture. I always thought he looked like he would rather be anywhere than there. I just couldn't understand why that pic was used. Unless he/they wanted everyone to know how he felt and we would figure it out by the pic. Do you think the VH1 interviews were a lot of hooey? I thought that it was Steve's way of breaking with the band and maybe people would "hate" him for leaving so the remaining members could continue and make money as Journey and his fans would follow him instead. I am a huge skeptic about a lot of stuff. You sure can't fix stupid and you can't make sense out of nonsense. Maybe my theories are nonsense. What do you think?Laydee wrote:Welcome Tennessee. Glad to see someone else here who lives in the south. I know right where your from. About the picture on the back of the CD.... he just looks damn uncomfortable to me. Like he really wished he could click his heels three times and go back home.

Thanks Jana, I just needed confirmation. Excuse me, my flying saucer just flew in. Got to go. Conspiracie theories and the like to take care of.Jana wrote:Tennessee wrote:Thanks Laydee. Your theories are nonsense.
I haven't seen any other pics from that session. Do you know where I could find them? I checked out your myspace page. Are you really from Everett, Washington? I have two friends who live there now. I got to visit them in 2001 when they first went out there to work for Boeing. Washington state is very beautiful. I'm off topic, I know. I hope it isn't a problem.brywool wrote:yeah, THAT photo- he looks completely paranoid and scared in it. WHY did they use that? There were better photos from that session...

Yeah Tennessee, I'm a southern girl.
Maybe, I would think if Neal picked it everyone else would be waaaaaaaay in the back with himself on a pedastal and a huge spotlight and fireworks and....
