Steve is not stupid.....especially in this Day & Age, with ANYone having the ability to photograph / record EVERYthing.....we're no longer in the days before BlackBerrys, Dorothy.

I mean, did you see the people - besides the person's video you watch - recording the guy???

Knowing that, and knowing HOW MUCH of a "Ft. Knox" - level private guy he is.....to PUT HIMSELF OUT THERE, as of late??
....and seemingly LOVING IT??

Things like being able to perform are 99% mental preparedness.....if you're ready "in your head" to do something, then nothing can stop you.
This also goes for losing weight, quitting smoking, etc....

I dunno....I'm LOVING seeing him back out there "among us".....but with the Russ Miller thing and the Sirius Radio thing.....hmmmm........

Nora, you need to check yourself in for immediate drug counseling. Are you fucking serious in some of these Espee posts?

My God, it's as if the Giants are going to win because Steve is a fan of the black and orange. You are saying that all 43,000 people are there only to sing that fucking song, and not actually watch the baseball game. Look, it's easy to find 43,000 people who are jacked up when your team is up 6-0 in the 7th inning at home. Hell, they would have all stood up and sang a KISS song they were so happy. You make it seem as if everyone there was bowing down to the Voice. Let's keep it real folks. Steve is awesome, but Goddamned he isn't the Baseball Messiah. He is not the reason the Giants are winning. And oh by the way, not everyone is staring at Espee as he sang the song. I am sure everyone there and their unborn children KNOW the song, and it's San Francisco origins, but damn you Loons are embarrassing the hell out of me as an Espee fan. I cringe when I see what you women say. It's a bit ridiculous. "Long hair, looks happy, he is in shape, he is singing, he loves what he is doing, he is eating this up, he is back!" If you all really loved the guy, you wouldn't embarrass the living shit out of him. Damn I feel for Steve. No wonder he stays hidden away 350 days a year. Poor fucker.

Not difficult to yank your chain is it. I was kidding. But I did notice that when they showed Espee on the jumbotron, the crowdgot quite a bit louder.

So people get a kick out of seeing the man at a baseball game singing and
having a good time, big deal!! He was asked to do a favor and he obliged.
Obviously, the folks that asked him to do this knew the spirits of the crowd
would be lifted and they were. If I had been there I would have been equally excited,
eaten a cookie and moved along ...it's not a sign of insanity!!

The Loons had to be dying for Texas to win tonight, so they could see Espee yet again singing DSB. I KNOW these Cheesecake eatin' bitches wanted to see that poor bastard back in AT&T again. I am glad Perry doesn't have to perform for the Blue Whale Society of San Francisco again. I really feel for Espee.

All I was saying is that it's nice to see him out at a game, among the people.
And, I think it's interesting that 2 other sources state that he's doing something.

True or not? I don't know......It's just a nice coincidence.

HAVE A NICE DAY.

This is why we do it. This is why we write and perform music. This is why a musician's life is richer than that of any Wall Street banker, any politician, any sports figure.

They say that money is king, that it changes everything. But you haven't experienced true power until you hear 40,000 people singing your song, with no bouncing ball, no coaching, but by heart. That's how much you mean to people.

Most people under thirty have no idea who Michael Milken is. As for Henry Kravis battling for RJR Nabisco, huh?

A friend of mine's 17 year old daughter went to a political fundraiser and spent half an hour engaged in a great conversation with a diminutive woman and when the people who brought her wanted to take a picture she couldn't understand why, she didn't know she'd been sitting next to and talking to Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

"Seinfeld" is the best TV sitcom ever, but even a glorious concoction like that fades, but not a great song, a great song lives forever.

This clip is not as good as the one of "Don't Stop Believin'", the audio is low and the camera person is far from the man himself, and yes, I know now that the Giants made sure Steve Perry was there, but about 1:20 in you hear the assembled multitude sing "Lights" and you're overwhelmed, they know it, it's in their DNA.

Imagine having that much impact on somebody! People don't seem to know Barack Obama's religion and birthplace, but everybody knows the Beatles are from Liverpool. They can name all four members, even though they're not even sure who their Congressman is. As for "Birthday", if you've lived to experience one, you know the Beatles' song.

If you're doing it for the money, if you think it's about the trappings, you're wrong.

It's about the SONGS! In order to last they need to be able to be sung acappella, they must tug at people's hearts, make them feel all gooey inside.

And the ability to touch people in this way is so difficult. Anybody can write a song, but can you create one so great that everybody knows it and can sing it?

This is why everybody wants to be a rock star. To feel this power. To bask in the effect of your creation.

I don't want to hear that this financial wizard is a rock star, or this politician, that's missing the point. A true rock star can touch and move people in a way that no one else can. That's the power.

And Steve Perry and those ancient Journey songs from last century have the power to not only ignite a whole city, but an entire nation.

That's it exactly. Mr. Perry, take a bow! 8)

I believe the Giants won the WS because of SP about as much as I believe
the Rangers lost because Lyle Lovett sang! I also didn't switch teams because
the George's showed up ...or because SP sang DSB, I was a Ranger Rooter!!

Well there......Deano...it seems you have misjudged some of the Loon population.

I did not switch teams either...if the Red Sox were still in it...Journey could have played and I would have wanted the Giants
to lose...as for cookies I am not a big fan.

Congratulations to the SF Giants! I only watched the last part of the final game and it was exciting (not cool 'tho that crazies rioted & started fires in SF).

Last time I looked, this was a Steve Perry forum, not a SF forum so if his fans want to get excited about his appearence at the games, this seems like a great place for it to be discussed. It's obvious that he must not have appeared at the last three games and if he did, it wasn't mentioned so no one would have been dumb enough to feel that he was their good luck charm.

Piss up a rainpipe, Dean. Perry has already posted in his Fan A. letters that he enjoys his loyal fans attentions and even the sexy ones. The very last thing that Perry could ever need is your pity and anyway, everyone knows that you are probably the biggest loon of all.

I'm a lil late & out of the rhyme
but I am really happy for him
He must have had the best of times!
