According to Tito, and I believe this theory, that was a subliminal FUCK YOU, ASSHOLE! from Steve and/or Lora, for all of the tough love (truth) posts from me. There's no way that my question was the first pulled from the fish bowl and that that was his answer. :? The odds of that are astronomical.

Wrong! That's not what Uncle Steve said. My girlfriend simply didn't want to sit around and think of questions so I sent her 3 and she used her email. We played by the rules!

Here's how it works:

* One email per person ONLY. Additional emails from the same person
will be deleted.
* Maximum of three questions per email.

I don't think I'd mind if you merged this forum with Journey...'tho, I'm not too involved anymore. Actually, there really isn't much activity on here - even with the latest Q&A, not much discussing. It just seems that there won't be anymore new music from SP...I wish...but, I just don't think it will happen. Sorry for you not getting that interview, Andrew. :(

You either like Steve or you don't.
What I guess I don't understand is if you don't like him, why do they come here to complain?
I understand fan's frustrations over no new music, but cmon...unless I see a product or
news from the artist themself...wishin ain't gonna get it done.
Give the artist credit for his work but don't punish them for what he does in his personal life.
Lets not hang on his every word, he's a "humanoid" like the rest of us...
Not criticizing, just asking..Thanks

Burt is very much still alive. He's 82 years old and has written over 70 top 40 hits in the U.S. Ironically, that dude is Jon Cain's hero.

I don't think the questions were picked from a bowl, either. Seems to me, these types of questions are the ones always used in the Q&A's over the years. And SP's answers are pretty predictable, too. They are not "bad" answers, just the sort of responses we have expected he would say in return.

In all these years, I have never had a question picked. Guess I don't ask the right questions  :? .

I vote to consolidate with the Journey forum. Even from the beginning, I didn't like the separation. The whole argument that Loons need sanctuary just doesn't hold water, as anyone is free to cross forums and jump into threads at any time.

At one time back in the SA-era, sure, there were some nasty fights (Goons vs. Loons)...but giving SP his own forum didn't prevent it...as the separation was tried by Andrew once before (just before Tapegate broke). I just think we are in a whole new era, and the G vs L debacles are just a distant memory.

A more valid consideration by Andrew is whether he wants drooling SP talk and photo threads in the Journey forum :P .

Leave it open. One of the few Perry boards where you can post your honest opinion and not be attacked by every single member of the board.. And since when is having an opinion different from the "loons" considered to be wrong and negative.

I don't think everyone would agree that people aren't attacked or chided or ridiculed for an opinion. I don't mind the difference of opinions I just don't like the thrashing one has to endure at times for having an opinion or for making a comment. Some times it's fun and some times it's insulting. If you are quick witted, funny, sarcastic or able to prove your point based upon statistical information with times and dates then you're probably going to be fine. I just think there are significant number of fans who just want to share Steve Perry thoughts and pictures and other singer paraphernalia with others fans because they like the man. This MR forum brings together fans from all the other sites and they can talk about the good times back in the day or drool or do whatever it is they do along with others who might have a bit more knowledge and expertise about the man. I think if this forum is merged with the Journey forum there will be Perry fans who will continue to come and read post and contribute, some who try to ignore or maneuver through any inflammatory comments and those who just sit back and lurk without engaging. I think these people are the ones that the forum is aiming to get involved. I just can't agree that the "loons" don't mind the attacks because from what I've heard and read; most people don't like it and don't say to much about it.

I vote to keep it open, however, Perry is so much a part of Journey, for many he IS Journey....so if this goes to a Journey only forum, I am more than OK. A discussion of Journey includes the past, present and future, all should be expected and accepted. Any news for any of the members, from any era will come to the site.

8) I say, give the Sweetie a break...:) He's head over heels over a lady and it's complicated..:)
No man's gonna make any music when he is in misery and half alive without the one he
loves!! I hope he gets the girl and lives happily ever after, travels, has latte's and hugs
and kisses all day long....lol! He deserve's it, he worked his arse off and gave many songs
and many hours of labor to everyone he could. Don't you think he would like to be that young
again and perhaps be able to give that much again, wouldn't we all...:) Keep the forum...and
keep sending out the love to one another that is derived from the music he has already given:)

*Laura wrote:As a longtime member of this board I have witnessed (and was part of) many nasty arguments between the Journey and SP fans. I guess these two "factions" will never be able to be on the same page let alone peacefully share a forum. The idea of 2 separate forums was welcomed exactly because of that. Terminating this forum will take everything back to square one - the Perry fans will post in the only SP related place and eventually, the shit will hit the fan ( read "loon" lol).
Granted, when the "goons" and the "loons" were at war the Journey forum had huge traffic, but it also meant a lot of grief, especially for you, Andrew.
I sure understand the reasoning behind not wanting to keep this forum ( no SP activity), but keeping the fans in separate rooms is a good idea.

Andrew, I have no idea if the number of forums is affecting Melodicrock as a website ( technical issues, speed, etc) , but if it's not the case, then you should keep this place just to make sure that you keep the hair on your head. lol

Thanks Laura, you just saved me a lot of typing. I agree with this word for word.

Please, for the love of God, keep this place OPEN, so the crazies will have some place to go.

Andrew, listen to me very carefully- If you don't keep this open, I will post on every forum you have, over and over and will even sign up for the Noticeboard. And if that doesn't convince you, I will terrorize your facebook account daily.

Are we clear? :)
