Hi, new to this all, so please bear with me. Been reading this board for a few years and decided to sign up upon seeing the good news of the possible downfall of PV.

I also knew Chrissy, we met thru PV. Chrissy was incredible and after she finally met Steve, she could talk about it for hours (and did). The last time I spoke to Chrissy was 5 days before she died, and even then she spoke about meeting Steve. I miss her.

I am here to authenticate everything both Deb and Tarseea have said. I can also say that Lora was used by Kathy. I can also say without a doubt that Kathy told everyone thru pm that Steve visited that site a couple of times a week.

Now about the forum. A forum like this can be broke down by the administartor. That person can determine what you can see and what you can't see. In all fairness to Lora and Cyndi here, they were only allowed to see maybe 20% of the forum. That was where all the "fawning" went on. Of the 80% left, some members had access to all of it, or only some of it. The "auction" area, or as I referred to it as "Kathy's groceries money area" was accessed by all.

There was another area, where Kathy would put up "Steve collectables" , items she was told she could sell by the Man himself. Now many people believed she had a hot line to the man, but she didn't, never has never will. In this area, she sold mugs with Steve's face on them for $30.00, date books with Steve on it, note cards ala Steve, luggage tags, yep Steve on them also etc etc. Proof, I bought alot of the stuff foolishly myself. All pictures covered the wide eras of Steve, 80', 90's, 2000's. If she could find a way of selling it she did. There was also the empty promise that when Steve did "release" another cd, it would be done so thru PV first.

As far as the money for the MAW foundation, there hasn't been any donations made, and check it out if you dont believe me, in 2 years, possibly more. There were many "donations" taken up for various things, and that money also never made it to where it was supppose to go. But when questions would arise, Kathy always told them, "I will ban you and I am your only way to meeting Steve."

Two women sent her very deep personal letters regarding Steve. She claims she could use them to get more of what she wanted. Neither of these women knew that Kathy sent the emails out like a mass mailing, with the refernce that they were both sick in the head. Both of those women left the forum.

I have recieved emails from 8 different former members all spilling their guts about PV. The unfortunate thing is that some people when they left or were banned, left with a bad taste about Steve primarily because she claimed access to him. I WANT TO SAY QUITE CLEARLY STEVE PERRY DOES NOT, NEVER DID PARTICIPATE IN AND HAS NEVER AUTHORIZED THE PERRYVILLE WEBSITE.

I am sorry this is long, I will be back with more later.

Thank you for your time.

It was a very emotional time around the PV boards when Chrissy got ill and later died. I remember succinctly (as the sequence of events unfolded on the boards) that she only found out about the cancer through routine maternity checkup AFTER her trip to LA. She died along with the baby she carried in her womb. Wait … the doctors aborted first … to conserve her strength. But, it didn’t make a bit of difference  . Eventually, she succumbed to the illness. I remember she was posting and always acted strong, relating her will to beat it, almost to the very end. Very, very sad … everybody cried a river when Kathy broke the news that Chrissy was gone … she was only, like, 32 with a husband and several little kids   .

I must say Kathy was the glue that held everybody together. She is very good at that sort of thing. She was speaking to Chrissy and her family on a daily basis throughout the whole ordeal is what I understand. Unless K was a very good actor, she took Chrissy’s death very hard … memorials and tributes for Chrissy weeks, months, on PV. She also took up a collection to send to Chrissy’s family to help with burial expenses, etc. Money to paypal account or check to her home, and she will consolidate and send 1 check to Chrissy’s family in Florida.

I sent $25. Now, I’m wondering if all the money collected got to the family. I think we were told the total was around $400, and a “thank you” note and pics of the funeral was posted by Chrissy’s mother. In retrospect, it seems kind of low considering PV had ... like 1000 members at the time. Kathy herself stated that she couldn’t keep up with providing authorization for all the new people signing up to join the PV forums -- no doubt caused by the buzz generated from the WOF meeting with SP.

RE Kathy

Postby annie89509 » Thu Aug 06, 2009 3:27 pm

To be fair -- and I don't profess to know any of the insider stuff surrounding PV or what made Kathy tick -- I was on PV for several years. I just didn't see any outright lying by Kathy re --having direct pipeline to SP or that SP reads the boards. In fact, that would be pretty silly, because we all know better. And I think Kathy knows better. I will say there were a few times when some poster may start with: "do you think Steve ever comes here." And someone will come back with: "you never know." And then others will go into some silly hypothesis. That's just messageboard bantering; people do it here, too.

We all have heard from the man himself that he doesn't visit fan sites. I'm sorry, I just don't see Kathy making those claims. In fact, quite the opposite. I specifically recall she didn't, at any time on the board, claim that she had arranged for SP to meet the ladies. It was always "a total shock for us." What she said between the scenes, I wouldn't know.

I believe Deb, Sarah, and Tarseea's stories (and Lora, of course) because I know them from our days posting on PV. Anybody else, I've got to believe Kathy has made a lot of enemies in her time of running PV. One thing I've learned about fans and fan sites ... there's a lot of competition and very easy to cultivate jealousy. I think Andrew has had his share of grief along these lines, too.

This is going to be my last post on the subject of Kathy being such a bad person.

One thing I've learned about fans and fan sites ... there's a lot of competition and very easy to cultivate jealousy. I think Andrew has had his share of grief along these lines, too.

This is going to be my last post on the subject of Kathy being such a bad person.

I also know Annie that you did NOT have access to the whole forum.

This isnt about Kathy being a bad person, this is about the bad things that have happened to GOOD people who went to that site.

Re: Deano's time on PV

Postby annie89509 » Thu Aug 06, 2009 3:42 pm

Lmao … how the notorious Deano happen to come post on the PV SP board for a brief time is an interesting story in itself. Deano said he was invited to join. If you ask Kathy, it was he that begged her to let him in (private forums need Admin’s authorization to get on the boards). Truth is, Deano hated the perryloons, and vice versa. His reputation for venom against SP and his devoted fans (during the SA-led era) are on the MR archive pages for all to see.

Ah, but this is during the height of Tapegate  . Deano, with his typical full force of fury, did battle with the wigglers (and to a lesser extent, Journey supporters) on a daily basis, playing out all the drama on this very board. Nasty stuff … but also hard not to come lurk every day. Poor Andrew, caught in the middle. You can only lock & delete so many threads. Seemingly, he had to shut down the whole board every other week to calm the tension. Finally, after dishing out enough warnings to Deano to tone down the rhetoric, and in an effort to salvage his(this) Journey board, Andrew banned him.

With nowhere to go …and he certainly was considered a pariah at BT, the J official forum. Sure, Deano had his blog, but a blog doesn’t give you the satisfaction of immediate interaction with literally an unlimited mass of people at any given time … where else would he feel welcomed but among Perry fans? And, dare I speculate, PV was the most popular SP fansite and forum at the time – especially coming in the heels of drawing a chance meeting with the man himself.

So … Deano was welcomed to the PV boards with open arms … like a hero, as Matthew stated  . Alas, his stay did not last very long, a few weeks, probably. For soon after, he made amends to Andrew and got back in here. Perryville didn’t hear from him again.

My recollection is a little hazy on what Deano had to do to make it right with Andrew. I think he had to make a formal apology to all the Augeri (and Journey) fans he pissed off. Of course, I should clarify that Deano had a lot of believers, too, among open-minded Journey fans, which tipped the scale toward making the lipping incidents a truth that just couldn’t be denied.

Haha, I could write a book about the saga of Journey and its fans.

Ms.Nobody wrote:Hi, new to this all, so please bear with me.

Were you a poster on PV three years ago before we left? What was your user name, pm me if you want instead. I definitely didn't know all of the crap going on, partly cuz I didn't want to get involved in any of the little cat fights going on with her and whoever. I went there to stay in touch with some stellar friends I met through there, and of course check out any current SP news. Like you said, I do remember her mentioning once to some of us that.....who knows maybe he does check the site out, maybe under Lora's user.....IP's from around the same area, blah blah, I quit paying attention.  It just all got to be too childish and drama inducing for me. One things for sure though, I met a few stellar life-long friends through there. I would like to believe we probably would have met up under any other Perry site, but who knows. A couple Cali friendships that I absolutely cherish. :)

I dunno, maybe I just want to see the good in people. I guess Kathy will have to come in here and defend all these charges against her … if she wants to clear her name.

I do know there were a lot of hateful comments directed toward her after the SP meeting, when the news & photos got around the various fan sites. Not from members of her site (we were all delighted for her, as well as for the other gals who went on the trip)… but at other fan forums … I saw it. One comes to mind … “why would Steve want to take a picture with a ugly, fat__ like her?” People can be so cruel.

Oops  , I said I was done …

Andrew has revoked her privleges to post here, I believe. Apparently she did something here before that wasn't appreciated.

Deb... but do you think K was serious when she posted that maybe Steve was using Lora's ip .... and checking in, though? I took it as being facetious internet talk ... messageboard bantering. Certainly, there were enough posters going back and forth with that topic, and I think she was just adding to the mystery. That's how I remembered it, anyway.

God, I thought I was done ...

I did a post search on Wildfire and found one of the most recent posts to be relevant to this thread, and the discussion of who arranged the Steve meetup.

Also this discussion is exactly what I fought with her about several times.
