Lmao … how the notorious Deano happen to come post on the PV SP board for a brief time is an interesting story in itself. Deano said he was invited to join. If you ask Kathy, it was he that begged her to let him in (private forums need Admin’s authorization to get on the boards). Truth is, Deano hated the perryloons, and vice versa. His reputation for venom against SP and his devoted fans (during the SA-led era) are on the MR archive pages for all to see.
Ah, but this is during the height of Tapegate

. Deano, with his typical full force of fury, did battle with the wigglers (and to a lesser extent, Journey supporters) on a daily basis, playing out all the drama on this very board. Nasty stuff … but also hard not to come lurk every day. Poor Andrew, caught in the middle. You can only lock & delete so many threads. Seemingly, he had to shut down the whole board every other week to calm the tension. Finally, after dishing out enough warnings to Deano to tone down the rhetoric, and in an effort to salvage his(this) Journey board, Andrew banned him.
With nowhere to go …and he certainly was considered a pariah at BT, the J official forum. Sure, Deano had his blog, but a blog doesn’t give you the satisfaction of immediate interaction with literally an unlimited mass of people at any given time … where else would he feel welcomed but among Perry fans? And, dare I speculate, PV was the most popular SP fansite and forum at the time – especially coming in the heels of drawing a chance meeting with the man himself.
So … Deano was welcomed to the PV boards with open arms … like a hero, as Matthew stated

. Alas, his stay did not last very long, a few weeks, probably. For soon after, he made amends to Andrew and got back in here. Perryville didn’t hear from him again.
My recollection is a little hazy on what Deano had to do to make it right with Andrew. I think he had to make a formal apology to all the Augeri (and Journey) fans he pissed off. Of course, I should clarify that Deano had a lot of believers, too, among open-minded Journey fans, which tipped the scale toward making the lipping incidents a truth that just couldn’t be denied.
Haha, I could write a book about the saga of Journey and its fans.
