And yes this place gets is over the top with the fawning....but upstairs sucks as it's a OT Forum when it's not the latest review of the same fucking set list played over and over again...or wait that Journey is now good people and who to fuck cares who they rolled over with the bus to get there.

So what exacty is a fan of the music??? You know when they were the best and had huge crowds that waited in lines to get tickets to the shows?? Where are we to post? What is there really to talk about?

Upstairs it's a constant who is better.....most know it...some don't and never will because they don't think there was a Journey before AP.

Anything else that is actually about the music I believe has been discussed and argued many times and many ways.....I think until there is new music in both camps these two Forums are boring at best and sometimes for me just sad....it makes me realize that the Journey of greatness is long gone!!! and all I have to do is put in a DVD and I can see that (you actually can't go back in time)

So yes Deano we have all lost it in one way or another......I for one have lost the band that I love to listen to and enjoy and I guess there is not much to talk about anyomore as that band has not played together for what 20 some years...for me I will wait to see what Perry puts out...I am sure I will at least like it as I am a fan of all the solo stuff...Journey was my fave but I do like the solo stuff...so I will be happy to have something new to listen to.

Yesterday I listened to Revelation again as I had a long car trip to make and thought why not?? I my honest opinion it's okay and if it was any other band I would say well I would give it a listen now and then but it would not be on my rotation in my CD player. The problem was that after I listened to Revelation I put in Frontiers this is the problem that they have to deal with IMO they are not as good as they were.....then I put in TBF they were better still then they are now.

So here I am one MF frustrated FAN with nothing to talk about!!!

Portland

I'm going to have to agree with you...granted I have not been here long, but I have spent several hours reading both forums. The Journey forum is every bit as bad with the fawning posts. Infact.. if fans don't post how great Journey is now, the folks upstairs have a "your not a true fan" tantrum. Frankly, I don't see the difference in supposed "fawning" over Journey vs Arnel vs Perry.

As for me..I'm just not interested in the "new" version of Journey. I have other musical interests to keep me entertained and Journey without Steve is not one of them. I will either wait until Steve has a new project out,or just remember him fondly by..listening to the old Journey stuff, watch my two DVD's or listen to his solo CD's (just like I have already been doing for years). Not a big deal to me.

My thoughts exactly. :)

 Does this mean you want these people back in the Journey forum? The Perry legacy has always been secondary to them. It's all about the fantasizing...and their realistic hope that one of them has a chance with him.

Touche' Sarge  Actually I think we should thank Deano for trying to liven things up down here. Although lately things have been pretty dull topside too.

Things are going to be this way till Perry's album is out, or Journey comes out with new tunes as well. Otherwise, sorry Deano, but it gets just as stimulating to watch you guys debate over Captured Vs Departure album, is Arnel better than Perry, the Vagina monster, and the hits just keep on going.

I am not too into what kind of shampoo Perry uses, but as a female I can say he is hansome. Tell me the truth when you guys post a picture of a hot chick don't you go on and on about how and what you would like to do to her? So your saying these single girls who find him attractive cannot express that they find him attractive?

"as long as they have to carry DSB as their banner, it looks like Perry will be right there with them as an overseer, ready to wield his veto power on all things Classic Journey." As quoted by Don on 12/7/2010

I love the old Journey and I love Steve Perry. I think he is immensley talented. I find him attractive and mysterious. I don't think that's so weird. Give it a break people. This is supposed to be all about Steve. Just keep it in perspective. You'll be alright.

Keep it in perspective? You have got to be kidding me? You deem it ok to fawn and fantasize about everything SP, but you want us to keep it in perspective.

Look, I love Steve Perry and I think he is a top 5 frontman of all time. I just wish I hadn't lost all respect for Journey, because this place used to be so fun for me. I also don't like pissing on Journey fans- that isn't fun nor is it a goal of mine. I just like to keep the overzealous fans honest with what I think is a good solid take on things. I know a majority of folks here hate my guts and I do care believe it or not. i do care what people think of me, but I have to come correct and the Pineda fans in particular, show absolutely zero respect for the past and Perry. That really pisses me off. They could care less about the band, IMO. Look at the videos posted- "Arnel, Arnel Arnel."- It should be Journey Journey Journey. I am telling you, this cannot sit well with Schon.

Anyway, my other point here was that Perry deserves to be treated with respect regarding music. Wrong. Ask Andrew you silly girl. I've never been banned from anywhere but maybe you would have more experience in that field? A little jealous are you? Do you perhaps have some of those jelly arms Deano was speaking of? That's okay. I'm sure you have a great personality.

Shut the fuck up, Sybil. I bet your IP is in St. Louis now. Just as it was in Florida, Dallas and wherever else you choose to electronically hide.
I warned you back in December 2007 to NEVER show up on any Journey forum again. You have so many friends on here that would love to give you a welcome back hug. Your spine will snap, trust me.
