Steve Perry at NIN Show Last Night

Nine Inch Nails had to cancel last night's show in Hollywood because frontman Trent Reznor was "ill" -- and now we know exactly what's buggin' him.

Sources close to Trent tell TMZ he had a cold and developed a clogged ear during his flight out to California.

The clog got so bad, we're told Reznor couldn't hear himself sing during his show Wednesday at the Palladium and overcompensated by screaming out his songs -- resulting in some seriously screwed up vocal cords.

Reznor will be visiting the doctor again today, and they'll decide then whether the band will be able to continue the tour.

As of right now, there are just two more dates on the band's lineup -- both this weekend in L.A.

But you don't just happen to "run across" information. You seek it out. Your posts read like you have had him tagged by the California Zoological Society, and that is what is creepy. And then telling the readers here that you purposely left out "key points" about what exact 12"x12" tile he was standing on or whatever does not make it less creepy. Makes it worse if anything because just as playitloud said above, all that does is say "I have even more info, special info, on Steve Perry that I won't share, neener neener." You pretend it's out of respect for him that you're leaving out the "key points" but it isn't. If it was about respect, you wouldn't be GPSing him all over creation to start with.

The key point that *I* left out was that only last winter you swore up and down for pages that JSS was Steve Perry, didn't even know who the guy was and refused to takes any of our words for it, those of us who did know what we were talking about around here, and now suddenly, not only do you have all his vitals, but you seem to know where he is all the time. Eeek.

And before we even go there, there is a big difference between "hey look I found an article in a magazine or some music news in Rolling Stone about Steve Perry and here is the link" and "oh hey, I read on twitter that Steve Perry was at the airport and I messaged this person to see what he was doing and where the flight was going, and if he talked to him and what he said, etc. etc."

Good god, I don't even know why I'm arguing this.

Alright, I'll confess... I wasn't *really* arguing. I only pretended to because Steve Perry called me a few hours ago. He wanted to leave his house to go grocery shopping and was hoping I'd do him a solid and distract you so that he might be free to go to Albertson's and get his can of Gillette and some Lofthouse cookies without it showing up on twitter or MR.
