Thanks Don for the photos.

But has Steve been to any Baseball games this year?

I hope he didn't stop going to them on our account.

I hope we don't bother him too much when he's out.

After all, we still love and miss him. We just want him to enjoy his life.

So if we see him out, I guess us loons tend to get alittle excited just seeing him!

I know I will never run into him any time soon, as I don't think he comes to NJ for anything.

Peace.

If I was Steve Perry I think I'd be too afraid of some of the loons to ever leave my house. See what some of you have done to the man!

Hey you Guys!!!!!!

I want to keep this thread going!

So since I was here last our Steve has been very busy! :D  8)

He was or wasn't at the season final of Glee, depends on who's looking into the balcony. :?

Then he was at Capital records and coached Jimmy Fallon on how to sing like Bruce Springsteen for the Emmys. 8)

Then he was photographed at the airport with some man who may or not work at the airport. 9.23.10

Last week he may or may not have been at a wedding singing with the band. Some say it was him some sayit was Hugo.
I don't know for sure on that one. But if anyone knows let me know. OK! :? :?

That brings us to today 10.02.10, he was seen singing DSB at the SF Gaints game.
Hey it's already on YouTube. Go figure!!!! :P

Anyway, I am glad to see our Steve out and about enjoying his life.
He deserves it, he gave us so much of himself when he was performing. :P

So Steve, Live, Love, Be Healthy, Be Happy, Enjoy Life!! :) :D
Peace.

the question is WHAT exactly he did to inspire this manic obsession and undying devotion. It certainly wasn't his productivity in the music scene for the last twenty-five years. Understanding Steve Perry's Actions should be a required course in anyone interested in becoming a celebrity. He's more popular now than he was when he was active, and that's saying something.

Very strange....

I am not sure if that is true....maybe here and on other fan sites of which seem to contain many of the same fans.

There are levels of fandom, if I have learned nothing here at MR I have learned that.

I think he might be. He went from a very good singer to this mythic character that supposedly left a recorded trail of vocals, but nobody is sure he even exists anymore.

The average teenager knows Steve Perry and Journey, and for all practical purposes (if you count ROR as the end of his career), he retired before most of them were born. To top that off, it's not as if he had a big success as a solo artist. One album that sold ok with 2 medium hits, and another that vanished doesn't make a good career as a solo performer.

I guess with Glee and the exposure that has provided he does have more of the younger generation knowing who he is.

I think we are talking about two separate things.

I was more addressing Tommy's post that there is a level of  that one gets exposed to when reading certain posts.

By getting on ESPN during the Chi-Sox run and putting a full court press on the Sopranos before giving them license on DSB, Perry created the impression that he is the main component behind Don't Stop Believin'. As long as that song continues it's run, Perry will be in the spotlight. When that song finally dies, so does interest in Perry, beyond the regular loons who will follow him regardless, just like the ones who worship Leif Garret and David Cassidy. As long as people have their memories of the voice, and the radio keeps playing it, that will be enough for some of them to continue holding the candle.

Perry Power was around in a big way before the Chi-Sos run. There were twice as many fan sites as there are now and the fighting within and between the sites was a joy to behold. It was written that Perry never went to the sites but I always felt that they were too good for him to ignore.
I think that Behind The Music got a lot of people interested in Journey all over again, especially when they heard and saw Perry as the guy who sang those great songs that were the soundtrack to their youth.

Perry, these days is probably knee deep in selecting questions from his fans that he can safely answer without commiting himself to anything as far as what we can really expect from him this coming year. He is writing, thinking and really trying to build up the courage and confidence to go into the studio and lay it down. Didn't he say in his last interview that he had not gone into the studio yet?
PEACE!
