I'm sure all who got screwed will be so happy.It only took a federal internet complaint to get it done.As for her claim she forgot to order the shirts,that be impossible to do with all the emails,pms and posts asking where they were for months.Why was'nt the money refunded when people asked a long time before it had to get nasty?Why did'nt she post an invoice to prove she ordered the shirts.Because she did it after all hit the fan.My source at MaW was not a friend of a friend.He is a direct representitive of MaW.How I found out about the donations was handled very discreetly so as not to corrupt their donor policy.His name, and contact number, I have already given to the feds and I was advised not to comment on this case until it is settled.One thing that sticks out in my mind is how extremely angry she would get when asked about the donations.Steve always (when the donations were actually made) sent a note through Lora thanking the members of PV for the donation.As you know she she said there was nothing for two or three years.One year was to be held over til the next because of ongoing sales.That does'nt make up for other years.You don't scare me Kathy.Nor am I intimidated by your army of toadies.I will stand up for whats right.You had plenty of time to do the right thing.Now it's in someone elses hands.

The prudent and smart move would have been to refund the money.

But then again it is further proof that she was selling UNLICENSED STEVE PERRY MERCHANDISE at a profit to herself (highly doubt there will be a PV MAWF donation for this year). Thats right it was lyrical that said the money only was from the auctions. So she was selling unlicensed Steve Perry merchandise for a profit.

get the copies of checks (if you wrote them and they were cashed your bank has copies and has to hold them for years for tax reasons) worst comes to worst you might have to pay 2 bucks for a copy. If you deposited to paypal you can get copies especially if it's for proof of a crime. Allen C I believe worked for Journey and was a regular poster on the official Journey forum "Backtalk" when it was up and running. Anyone correct me if I am wrong.

We all need to work together and pull together if we're ever going to get action. The ball started rolling with garnold1965 and we need to keep the ball rolling if any action is going to bring results.....if you have info that could help then by all means pm garnold1965 and tell them what you know. We've all been burned and hurt and I for one would like to finally see closure come and see action finally come for all this wrong doing. This has gone on long enough.

Once someone formally makes a written request for a refund, isn't there a law that requires that the money be refunded. Might be a state to state law. Who is going to want a t-shirt now from this place anyway. I wish I was more versed in the legalities of all this, but once it's put in writing, and as we know, now acknowledged, there shouldn't be an alternative. It was actually pretty clear that the merchandise was not wanted, only the money to be returned.

So why wasn't it?

In this case, it might be small claims court only since the amount refused was less than $3000, but still. I am not sure of the laws of her particular state. I do know in CA, we had to jump through hoops if we got a request for money to be returned.

You are correct but specifics are that he was Neal's guitar tech [at the time] and he would "speak for Mr. Perry" in confirming rumors about the "daughter" issue and such...even in open chat forums.....and he went on a personal crusade to get everyone selling merchandise of anything Journey including videos on ebay (VHS at the time) that are now all over youtube anyway. At the time I was a [stupid me] friend of the Kat that was also selling stuff (she got so much money off of selling copies of video's that belonged to her one time friend Lisa....hundreds of none claimed cash[hello IRS].....paid for her first trip here to my house when we went to SF and had dinner with Lora and Cindy.....remember?) and like the fool I was I allowed her to sic me on him and I did.....so in a nutshell.....we were doing message board wars and I told him he was going to get fired for this shit and hello....he got fired....and I made a post that basically kicked his ass while he was down and now I know how mean that was......that got the steve perry board on VH1 shut down cause all the idiots out there wouldn't let it go......It's just a post people

The $6 was only charged for the past 2 years....and was only to help with the cost of the site since it was an AD FREE SITE. Kathy did bye many of the menbers for that fee that sent her a note or called with a financial prolem regarding the fee. Come on take $6 minus the PPal fee (which is how most ppl paid) and divide it by 365 days.....GET OVER IT. It's closed now and I can pretty much say what was collected in the $6 fee didn't pay for the entire site fee each year it was asked for.

When you take on the responsibilities of doing a website on your favorite celebrity being it musical or not you agree to all the costs that comes with it or you would not have started a website. When you start a message board you do it because you want the fans of that celebrity to have a place to discuss all this person has done and will continue do and when those fans join and become members of your site they should not be burdened with your costs to keep things running and going by being charged fee's to remain a member. If you can't afford to keep a website and message board up and running then you shouldn't have started one in the first place.

The MAW money was garnered from the sale of some items via autions...which was the buyers discrestion to bid or not. Other funds were from the sale of T-shirts and other various items. BTW, CRLady....thanks for the Steve Perry DVD you sold to me a few years ago...I still enjoy watching it....Oh, and what did you do with that money???? Just asking, after all its been eons ago.

So un-authorized merchandise was sold without the express written consent of Journey and or Steve Perry and or their management? T-shirts and other items such as calendars were sold using pictures of Steve Perry without the express written consent of Steve Perry and or his attorney and management? Regardless why the items were being sold you need permission to use someone's lickness on merchandise.

Every year a picture of the donation check to MAW was posted on the main site forum for anyone who wanted to see it could. In 2008 a donation was not made...and it was stated as such on the forum...that since we had several items still open for sale at the time of the cut off date....that it would be held over till 2009. NO ONE made any complaints at that time.

So then why in 2009 was a 2007 check shown as funds sent in 2009 to MAW?

The letter from MAW is legit....you can say its been duped...but really, that type of dupping requires some very expensive copy equipment and some expensive programs on top of it. I'm not poor...but I'd not want to spend that kind of money on such equipment just to have it in case I needed to prove something...would you????

Whenever you request information on past transactions made to an organization especially donations; the organization will send a very detailed list that would include the dates that the donations were received from the donor....the amount of the donation and sometimes the check # of the check that was sent. This was not the case in the MAW letter. There was not even a date on the letter as to when it was typed up and there was no signature of the person who drafted the letter. With a big organization as MAW I am sure when a request for information on past donations/transactions is requested they make sure to dot all there "i's" and cross all their "t's".

That's 6000 GRAND. (easy math..whoo hooo... good...'cause I gotta headache with today's workload here at work).

Now... I KNOW no website is costing anyone $6000 to run a year. No way. I also would imagine that no refunds were given to that $6 fee if you say...didn't participate enough (cause for banishment I hear) or disagreement with the lord o' the manor. $6 per person whether you posted once or 100000 times in a year.

So...an easy $6000 in, expenses to run the site were probably no more than $1200/year. I ran one (same company) with over 10 pages, tons of pics, plenty of traffic, and it only cost me $40 a month, so I'm being more than generous with my estimate. So...where'd the other money go to? Were taxes filed under either her name or is Perryville a corporation?

Again... it still smells funky to me. I hope whomever is doing the investigating with the Feds uses all information they can get.
