I'd be happy with that. Wonderful album.

But rockier would be better. And I think it will be. And a little more contemporary also perhaps. That's my gut view....

What Andrew states kinda makes since: 2 reasons (1-the AP factor will be of a lesser degree if thats possible. 2-Randy Jackson and AI, that would be a time frame for a guest apperance to promote a song on AI). And you know RJ has asked him more than once i'm sure.

Agreed, too many marginal(and that's being nice) ballads on that CD....How about stuff like 'Let it Rock', or 'Lost Angels' type stuff? Hell, I'd settle for 10 tracks of the same song, if that song is a kick-ass rocker....

CP & I posted awhile back that Steve played us some new stuff. (confirmed) In his recent radio interview he stated he is working on new stuff. (confirmed) When or if he releases that new stuff is....(unconfirmed)

Lora, I'm suprised that I (and I don't think anyone else) never asked you about this last year, but would you be willing to share what the songs were about that you heard?

I can't really give specifics but they were demos and ideas for songs that he had recorded. None of the songs were completed yet when we heard them. He sounded amazing and I hope he decides to share them with the world at some point.

"He sounded amazing......"

Of course he sounded amazing........he's SMFP  Seriously, we all hope he decides to share them with the world (please, please, please???)

You messed up BIG TIME here.

Your message wasn't nearly vague enough. There is just enough kibbles and bits in it that I can literally here the whacked out Loon women pecking away at their keyboards like woodpeckers tattoo a 100 yr old Oak..Trust me sister, they are reading between, around, over and under the lines you just wrote. I would have thought you had this science down by now.

You just don't understand...

Lora is simply part of the plan to keep the buzz going until the album is released sometime next ______ .

bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
And you can go to your room, too.

Yes, hidden among the cat pics is a tentative "release date" from Andrew himself.

Postby Don » Fri Jul 31, 2009 2:23 pm

Who says he's is forgotten? Look at the all the threads expanding to maximum density over the possibilty of a new release this Millenium. And to all those thinking he was nothing but a memory, to be written out of Journey history, only one thing need be said.

Soon I hope! But something tells me Mr P may downplay the publicity for the build up of a release and just put it out there.

That would be very strange. Rather counter-intuitive don't you think? I mean after all, why labor for all these long years recording, re-recording, and tinkering with stuff, only to downplay it when it's finally released? I know Perry has eluded to something like this (quietly releasing something) in the past but, at the end of the day, we are trying to move units here, are we not?

Doesn't really matter. Just tell me the date and the time to be at my local Wal*Mart, Target, Best Buy, Denney's, where ever, I'll be there, with my forehead pressed against the glass, waiting...

Coinciding with the release of Journey's new album? This ought to be interesting.....

I wonder how many people will go buy the new Journey album when they hear SP just released a new record and vice versa?

We still don't know how the distribution willl be. Perry might only be digital. The guy already has a multi-platinum solo album. I don't think he is going to try and push a ton of CDs out the door. Amazon Music is where it's at right now for a lot of artists. Journey is in the same boat. Without Wal-Mart, things will be a lot different. They may go the Generations route and just give their next release away at concerts. You never know. After paying 12 bucks for a 3 disc set, who wants to spend 13 dollars for one disc?

that makes good sense.journey has the number one most downloaded song ever.the greatest hits has sold nearly twenty million and is a top catalog seller.what they could do was have a steve perry theme on there and get people to sing some solo steve and journey tunes.maybe get steve up there and let randy play some bass.it could happen and be excellent for promoting that he is back with new stuff.

Maybe SP will finally fly his website, www.steveperry.com
and set up his own distribution company to handle the sales volume of his new CD.
I'd quit my private practice and move to L.A. to be involved in that! 8)
