Perry Tribute Site Bites The Dust

Postby journeygirl » Sat Aug 01, 2009 4:36 am

Not that this is news or nothing and I'm not really sure if I should poet this here. If not then Andrew can delete the thread. I'm still a little to green around the edges here....

I got an email this morning from a friend that was on the site. She told me that after 8 years of loyal Perry dedication the Perry Tribute website and Forum "Perryville" has closed it's doors for good. All I know is the owner of the site said "I have been slandered & lied about for the last time. " (so I was told).

Personally, I only went to the site once and did not care for it. But I'll bet there will be allot of Perry ladies or Loons looking for a new Perry home. I wonder if they will be coming to MR? I'm just saying....

Hi everyone, yes I have heard the same thing too. I have to admit that I have gone to the other site but I do love MR as well. I visit MR several times a day!!! I'm sure some of the members there will be looking for a new home as well!! :D

Yes, I can tell you that the site is gone. In prior times, the forum was shut down, but the site remained. This time the entire site has been shut down. I do believe this is for good, but then, you never know. JMHO

I've been a member of both sites for quite some time, although I don't post here that often. I have always loved this place, though. It's the best entertainment on the net.

Hope I can stay.

I know there have been major personal problems in the past with people who visit and the owners. I was always on the other side of the fence for that place and was even booted once for siding with Journey about something. But I still respected the people who put so much time and devotion into running the site. It is a shame the "audience" that came with it was so problematic.

I'm a member of PV and yes it is closed for good. Part of the problem is the fact that tee shirts were offered for sale and I did send in my $40.00. As of this date I have not received my tee shirt nor has anyone who send in their money and order one. That was over a year ago if not more. That was one part of the problem. Promises made none kept. One person got angry enough to start some digging and didn't like what she found out. Posted that she knew what was going on and even told the moderaters and then the post was deleted and then later that night the whole thing was locked and deleted.

I view the fact that I kissed my $40.00 goodbye as a life lesson I needed to learn. I'm not sad about it closing down. I just wondered what took it so long. I've been putting some distance between me and Steve for well over a year now and didn't really post that much over there anymore. So it's not that sad for me. So, while at one time I was a big loon, I'm not anymore. I wish him well and that's about it.

Probably just shutting down and re-opening under another name, same old. I don't miss the drama from a few years ago at ALL. LOL, yes there is lots of drama here but it's a different kind of drama. Here at least we don't all have to agree. Have to say though, I did meet some stellar people on that site, that am still close friends with to this day. A Cali visit has now become at least a yearly trip for me. :D

Any Perry site that locks out Lora Beard has issues, IMO.

That place shuts down with some woe is me tale by the admin every couple of years. Oddly enough Distant Voice always shows up here around the same time. Keep a look out.

lol...fuck that place. Any forum that opens up and is a dripping ground for older ladies to soil their panties to a guy that can't fucking stand that type of obsessive fan needs to shut down. That said, there were some nice ladies over there, but there was also a contingent of delusional, obsessive and intrusive heffers that made Perry uncomfortable on more than a few occasions. Good riddance to that dump.

PS $40 for a fucking tee shirt?!?! I'm guessing it was probably some unauthorized Perry likeness on a $3 shirt.

Hold the phone...I have no idea what the shirts had on them. I was guessing they had Nostrildamus on them. I mean, why else would you pay $40 for a shirt? Then again, why would you pay $40 for one with him on it?!?!

The tee shirt did not have a picture of Steve on it. Plus the extra money was suppose to got to the Make a Wish Foundation. From what I understand the person in charge of that had not been sending in the money to the MaWF. That was another problem that was discovered when the person doing the research called the foundation and asked them to search their records to see if the donation had happen at all. For the last couple of years it had not happened. No donation. The donation had been done in Steve's name. The person doing the research isn't going to let this one alone.
