There is no business anymore. At least not the type that makes you put a noose around your neck like it used to. You can write, record and release from your own site with no strings attached. As much as his fans like to make excuses for him, he really doesn't have a viable excuse for putting out 2 albums in the last 23 years, asuming he can sing at the level that he likes his bullhorns (uncle Joe, team Fan Asylum, etc) to purport.

FTLOSM was 16 years ago. Peoples' attitudes and feelings change. Maybe that's what he felt at the time and what drove him to make that record. Maybe he doesn't hold the same drive as whaetver made him feel he wanted to do Strange Medicine, or maybe his priorities about it have shifted and he prefers just working on other peoples' stuff at this point. And maybe it will change again... you can't hold people to shit they said in random interviews decades ago.
I still don't get all the hostility about what he does or doesn't do. Jesus, let it frickin' go guys.![]()

Huh? Your reply is the one that sounds hostile, not anything BJG said.whirlwind wrote:I'm guessing that he loves to see us begging, pleading, questioning, etc, etc.

Don't be so hostile! It's a fan message board. I'm guessing that he loves to see us begging, pleading, questioning, etc, etc. You can't tell me that he didn't expect speculation the minute that he first put that rubber band to his pony tail and was waiting for the first picture to be snapped and speculated on.
You do get your panties in such a wad over any discussions about Perry not to mention news or views of the guy. What's your problem?
Didn't you know? He owes us all money.![]()

At what point did Lora make a fuss? She just commented about your post and how it sounded. And I didn't make a fuss either, I just said I don't get it when people start in on the thing about perry is due back and he knows the fans want this or that.... and all of those same old same olds. That was all I said, not fussing.
Believe me, if I want to make a fuss, you'll KNOW it.![]()

Gawd you're comical sometimes.![]()
For the most part it is peeps like you looking for excuses as to why he's put out only 2 albums. Most Perry fans would love to hear more out of him, but don't require excuses as to why not.
And I'm pretty sure those "bullhorns" have ears of their own and are just "purporting" their opinion of what they've heard.

I find it hard to believe that the guy can "sing as well as he did in the mid-80's," but is only willing to allow a secret society of bullhorns to listen. Why even tell us? No one gives a fuck if you can sing, if you're not going to perform or release anything! He's either got a lying PR team, he's unable to live with the fact that he can't sing anywhere near like he used to because he negligently boozed and partied most of his voice away or he's just nuts. From all indications, it's the mainly choice in the middle and a bit of the other two.

Sorry dude, I don't see it as the conspiracy theory you do, him sharing a couple tracks with friends and them sharing their opinions of it, is more how I see it.

It was like this. Steve said, "Why don't you guys fly down here? I've got some demos of songs I've been working on and I will play them for you." So we did. And he did.
After we listened to the demos he said, "Go forth and spread the word, my Secret Society. Make sure you say I sound as fabulous as I did back in the 80s and I will bestow ten bucks upon each of you." So we did. And he did.
I bought a shinny new bullhorn with my ten bucks. I'm not sure what Cyndy did with hers but cupcakes were probably involved.
