Should Giants ask SP....?

In 2005, the Chicago White Sox made their 1st championship run in something like 80 years. Playing DSB down the stretch, ChiSox invited SP to be their good luck charm as they were about to play the Houston Astros in the World Series. We saw SP on TV sitting in the stands, being interviewed, and in the clubhouse celebrating with the players. As fate would have it, ChiSox swept the Astros in 4 games, culminating in a grand parade with Steve as a participant.

2010…the S.F. Giants are going to the WS--only the 4th time since moving from N.Y. in 1958…and they’ve never won! Conversely, in the same time frame, rival LA Dodgers have been WS Champs 4,5,or6 times. I don’t know about other Giant fans, but this fact always grates on me to no end…one of the reasons why I hate the Dodgers so much. Adding insult to injury, 3rd time SF ever went to the WS (2002), they lost to another SoCal team--the (AL) Anaheim Angels. This series was especially heartbreaking as Giants was 8 outs away from the championship, leading 5 to 0 in Game 6. Then proceeded to lose it all in Game 7.

Please…the Giants must follow ChiSox’ example and ask SP to tag along for good luck. Ironically, it’ll be against another Texas team—the (AL) Rangers. Ooh…the ironies. Could this at long last be the year for long-suffering Giant fans to end the stigma?
