At the Fan Asylum site! It reads!

Steve Perry

Dec 9, 2010

Steve Perry Fan Q&A

Since we haven't done this in awhile, Steve thought it would be fun to do another fan Q&A with Fan Asylum.

Here's how it works:

* One email per person ONLY. Additional emails from the same person
will be deleted.
* Maximum of three questions per email.
* Deadline to submit your email is Friday, December 31, 2010
* Click here to send your questions.

We will post Steve's responses sometime in January, before his birthday.

Happy Holidays!

Isn't it funny how your mind goes blank when you get the chance to actually ask him a question? You don't want to say anything silly or stupid, but every question that you think of, seems just that.

How about just a confirmed yes or no on a new CD and if so, confirmed date!

I honestly can't think of one single thing I'd want to ask him. Correction: I can't think of one question he would actually answer. I'm not all that concerned with his favorite brand of potato chips or whether he has Dish Network or DirectTV. (this is not a knock at Sp, btw... it's a side-eye at the folks who actually asked those things on the last one... what is this, Tiger Beat? )

(and by "actually answer" I don't mean anything filthy or inappropriate, so don't start :? )

1. When?

2. When?

and...

3. When?

Obviously, I won't be sending them in.

I doubt if it has anything to do with money. He has to realize that he has only one life to live and his life won't be complete until he finish's what he started. Neither he nor the band will rest easy until they tie up loose ends and ride off into the sunset playing "Still They Ride."  They owe it to their place in Classic Rock history and unless they do, they will fade away as has beens. All of them! My prediction for 2011.

Neither side has shown much of a desire to do things right. One side by constantly quitting and choosing to sing Journey songs without the rest of the band, and the other side by playing shows where their lead singer was nothing more than falsity. However, the band seems to be trucking along just fine and Steve seems to have some music ready to fly. Hopefully, their paths can cross a few years down the road and they can shut this thing down the right way.

I think that the band has always been ready and all Perry had to say was "Jump." and the band would say "How far?"

"Shut this thing down the right way" are key words, you are right on. I don't think that they have a few years and if anything happens to Perry or Schon anytime soon, forget about it and I think that Perry could turn into a leper over night if anything happens to Schon. He, Perry is lost without Neal. Journey, gone, Up in smoke! Both are good alone but Journey is only with them together.

Advice to Steve Perry. GROW THE FUCK UP!
PEACE!

I always thought that when Perry told Cain that there would be no going back after Cain said that they were moving on, that he was just a man of his word.
When someone you love is dying, and I feel that the band is fading fast, you make peace and grant last wishes and forget past ills. Right? When you know that you have the power to make so many people happy and you don't make a move on it! That is wrong!
PEACE!

Man, enough is enough, Perry and Journey would have done a project many moons ago but the sad fact is, if you look up the word HATE in the dictionary, its under Steve Perry and Journey. I'm willing to bet Perry and Neil have had so many arguments and fork bending confrontations behind closed doors back in the day.
I'm sure this was easy to predict for alot of people close to the group who saw this rearing it's ugly head. Flat out hatred for one another. Read Neils quotes and read Perry's body language through the years and it all makes perfect sense.
And 50 new songs, are you kidding me, He's retired and that is his choice that he made in life for himself. He is a legend and had at one time a voice that led to a untouchable legacy few can even come remotely close to earning.
Many in the music and entertainment business have patterned or even commented on his greatness through the years. Hell, when soon to be Rock God Adam Lambert gives his honest opinion on Perry's silky smooth vocals with his vibrato and falsetto, it doesnt take a village idot to see how a soon to be star reflects on Perry's legacy with all his vocal tools he once had. Anyway, again, sad but fact, you can dream, wish, prey or whatever, Perry is 61 years old and is finished in the music business. Let it be.
