Looks like Steve has vanished again

Postby swataz » Thu Jun 09, 2011 11:54 pm

Let me qualify that. It's not like the guy is in the news as it is, but he has definitely gone 'down periscope' and steered the USS Perry into into the abyss once again.

We'll be seeing that new CD any year now.

Revelation + Perry song credits = Platinum
Eclipse + No Perry song credits = aluminum

Dude is distancing himself as quickly as possible. It's only fun to be in the spotlight when you are winning. With Durbin suffering from some DSB backlash on American Idol, time for SP to disappear.

Uh, don't you mean re-disappear?

His baseball cap popping up in a stadium and croaking out a few verses of DSB don't count as an appearance in my book.

You know, I have also been wondering where he is these days.

No new photos of him at SF Giant's baseball games?

No sightings anywhere? :(
I only hope he is well and happy in whatever he is doing. :)

Well, he is retired. He really doesn't owe us anything more.
Back in the day, he gave us all his heart and soul when he sang for us. :)
What more can he give of himself, when he already gave us his best.
I am just saying.

True we all want to hear him sing again. 8)

But maybe he just doesn't have his whole heart in it like he used too. :?

This is just my two cents for the day.
I miss "The Voice" just like the rest of you.
But I still have my CDs and I play them often, when I need my Perry fix. :)

Peace.

You're leaving off the bit where he returned to release it in '88 and Sony told him to fuck off.

By the by, ROR is definitely not a bad album and has some of Perry's best vocals on it.

Don't ask me how or why, but my information is that Steve still suffers physical discomfort from singing for any length of time and simply cannot do it. That's why there is no action on the horizon.

I wish the great man well.

I can't imagine how horrible that must be. Not being able to do what you did better than any other singer ever, has to just be devistating.

He obviously still wants to do it and we all know he has at least been trying to write and record. Gotta be tough seeing all these older artists still doing their thing and he can't.

Really tragic. Maybe he will improve and be able to again soon. One can only hope and also hope that it's not tearing him up inside too much.

I just wish the legend happiness and peace in his life and also the power of healing and singing again if it's what he wants to do.

LOL...

Either you are incredibly stupid or you are just trolling for replies on the Perry forum.

Definitely wish him well - that must be awful for him. :(
Interesting, that right now I am reading Shania Twain's autobio after watching her doc/story recently...apparently she has literally lost her singing voice due to constriction! She is trying to recover it but it seems to be a real battle as there is nothing physically wrong - it might be a psychological thing that her voice is choked for various reasons...her speaking voice sounds oddly high-pitched, too. Her life story is just incredible - the poverty and abuse she lived with growing up - it's rather a miracle that she had a talent and survived that life and made it big (she never aspired to anything more than being a background singer or coffeeshop singer).
I hope the best for these great singers.

If only Steve himself would come out and say this and end all the speculation and rumors. I get why he does not, I just don't get how a person can also continually lead on his fans into having hope that one day there will be new music from him.

Steve, hopefully somehow this gets to you and you can realize that your words while sending one message of hope, your inaction leads one to despair instead.

Yes, if he would just come out with it and say he is retired and there will not be any new music. There would be many, many heart broken fans, myself included, but at least we would know and could quit wondering!!!

I don't think, IMO, that is what did Durbin in. People are not ready for that time of loud, fist pumping, head banging music again. Durbin was a wild card (he had my vote all the way), and people want safe, comfort music, that sounds like everything else on the market today.
The final two were what? Country........
Durbin was not cute like the final two, he had slight mental issues, but he blew everyone away, and was a force, which rock should be.
