Journey's reclusive former vocalist Steve Perry will make a rare guest appearance on the upcoming solo album by ex-Antigone Rising singer Cassidy. Follow the Freedom, which is due out this fall, not only features Perry on its title track, but he was involved in mixing the album, as well.

Perry's last guest appearance was a backing vocal on Street Sweeper Social Club's self-titled 2009 album. In 2005, he got production, arranger and vocal credits on ex-Ambrosia singer David Pack's The Secret of Movin' On album. Perry's last solo release was 1994's For the Love of Strange Medicine.
Perry's good natured bonhomie & the world’s most charmin smile, knocked fans off their feet. Sportin a black tux, gigs came alive as he swished around the stage thrillin audiences w/ charisma that instantly burnt the oxygen right out of the venue.TR.com

It's the final count down.... If you go to Cassidy's website you can hear soundbites of the new album. http://bohemeartist.com/ I hope that this will be better than his vocals on David Pack's album. I wasn't crazy about the song he sang background on. He's singing again even if it's just background vocals.

:? Is that the remake of ICSIIYE? I thought it was with some punk-rock group from the south...Steve gave some promos for it. Don't remember the year...after David Pack.
Street Sweeper Social Club??? Never was mentioned here, I don't think.

Good tone...some nice upbeat songs. Can't hear SP in the soundbite, though.

Boheme wrote:"I walked into the studio one day to find Steve Perry hanging out in my mixing bay."

"Before I knew it, he was there every day showing me tricks he used to get his voice to sound like that on his albums. Secrets I will take to my grave! He even came up with this cool idea for a backing vocal on 'Follow The Freedom'. We threw a mic up and sang together!"
