....and the answer to the million-dollar question:
Steve Perry wrote:10)I recently read where you are a guest vocalist on a track on Cassidy's upcoming album (Follow The Freedom), due out this Fall.

 That gave me hope of the possibility of you "getting the itch" to release a new album (or at least a single) of your own.
Any chance of this happening sometime in the near future?

Please know that your faithful fans miss you and your wonderful voice very much! - Angela Richardson

Thank you for your wonderful words......... Yes I sang some Na Na's on her out chorus and it turned out really cool and was a lot of fun.
I hope to start recording some time soon....... I've had a few personal setbacks and am itching to get into the studio again.

Thanks again
.

This is also telling:

22) What do you miss most about performing for all of your fans? - Ginger Hipszky

The interaction between myself and the crowd........and the ability to sing in front of that audience and run around..... pain free.

This sort of validates Andrews remarks...

He was very gracious in everything he said about ex band-mates. Nice to see that Schon was involved enough with this release to actually give input on having a particular song played. The original press release made it seem like It was just a Steve and Sony project with Neal and Jon not really interested in any part of it beyond giving certain permissions.

It also validates Journey's decision to leave him behind when he went AWOL. They'd still be waiting for him. Funny that after all of this time he still won't just admit that he can't sing very well. We know he's an avid hiker, so the pain is in his voice and/or between his ears.

He should be gracious. No one ever fucked him over, but he fired people, delayed tours, aborted others, lied about touring and trashed viable lineups.

Gotta love the way you keep it real, man. I know truth pains some, but I don't see any non truths in your post. That said, Neal has said some choice, off color
words about Steve, but all in love and war is fair, right? I don't think there are any innocents in this breakup. Neal apparently has been showing his ass a bit
this past week.

Haha...

I know you know a lot about the band and a lot of insider type insights and history, but how do you gather that no one ever fucked over Steve Perry? I mean, most of your information came from people around Journey after Perry left the band, right? So I guess if anyone did fuck him over, it's possible he just hasn't hung around chatting up fans about the experiences, right? I mean, come on, do think Herbie Herbert is going to grant an interview where he brags about fucking over Steve Perry? Or do you think Perry's going to get on Fan Asylum Q&A and complain to the fans that Neal fucked him over this one time, or Ross delayed a tour one time? Nobody's claiming the guy's a saint, but do you really think you have the whole story?

Well, let's take a quick look at the Journey timeline, shall we? Nostrildamus cans valory and Smith and hires who he wants for ROR. He then toasts out on ROR. The band waits for him until 1994 ... and he tours with others. They try doing the same and he magically wants back in ... but he wants Herbie fired. They bust up their lineup on his word to tour and he records and ... gets hurt. They then wait 2 years for a decision about hip surgery and move forward without him, but make him a silent 6th paid member. Yup, I'd say he was always treated pretty fucking well. Oh, wait, i get it ... he had those airtight gag orders imposed so he could cover up how the band wronged him. How "gracious" of him.

Well, you just described exactly what I outlined in my post above, LOL, the band's side of the story! Maybe Herbie DID fuck over Steve Perry somehow? I'm not saying he did, who knows? Maybe Ross was fired by Journey for a reason beyond simple arrogance and spite? I did not know about Steve Perry being made a silent paid member though, that is new information, so it does shed light on the whole situation. Can't believe he was actually made a partner in the band he helped found and established?? Did Perry have gag orders on him about the band, or did he just not run his mouth nonstop for 10 years about the band...Or maybe you are right, maybe the band - or in this case Neal, Jon, and Herbie - actually never DID pull any jive bullshit on Perry...Either way, I haven't heard him complain about it the way some on the other side have (despite those gag orders), so you are probably right.

Perry's was working in LA engineering in the 70's before he joined Journey... and I'm sure he picked up a lot of expertise along the way after he joined...

Are people buying record players again? I had gotten one a few years ago as a gift, but I ended up returning it for many reasons...namely, just not convenient.

Well, maybe Steve will make a film, sounds like he loves that.

Hiking is a low impact activity and may be beneficial to those with joint conditions. Being a lead singer in a rock band is a high impact activity and would be contraindicated for people with joint issues. Just FYI. :)
