Journey had asked Steve Perry to be a part of the Fan Q & A but he declined. The vocalist who has been out of the music business for quite some time now does keep contact with his fan base, because he wants to remain loyal to them even with his absence.

No specific reason as to why he has declined the invitation has been said, but the band does say the invitation is open to Perry if he ever changes his mind. Perry shines light on his fellow band mates and each of their traits that contributed to the band, Journey’s success. He also says he will never forget the success they accomplished together and he will not rule out returning to the studio to record. So could this mean a new Journey album or just a Steve Perry album?

I think they need to correct that lol 1st sentence...

The band knows he wants no part of returning, which is why I think they offer the olive branch. I don't think, in all honesty, they really want him back in the band. He's too demanding, I think to his credit, and they're doing ok without him.

As to why I think him being too demanding is a credit, it all boils down to perfectionism. In most bands that have been successful, you always hear of one of them being very demanding. Styx is an example, with Dennis DeYoung, and there are many others. It takes that perfectionism to make music good enough to make it. That's only my opinion.

Agree with you on this.

I think its pretty obvious when the band conjures up a name like Nomata that they really
don't want SP back in any sense. All of this extending the olive branch is just BS from the
band.

What Q&A? Does Journey still have a forum? I'm sure it was a formality to invite SP, but it makes sense that he would always decline...they are separate entities and no chance of ever being in the same space together again...The Walk of Fame star ceremony was the finale.

I think they just effed up on quoting Steve's Q&A. In his last question, he said that he politely declined the open invite to re-unite, but gives praise to all former band members.

24) There's an interview where Neal Schon and the rest of the Journey members said that you are welcome anytime to jam with them during a performance. Is this something you would consider?

That's a kind invitation...........but I Respectfully decline.
But I want you to know this.......
I just spent the last 3 months listening very closely to the new Journey Greatest Hits 2 and the first Journey Greatest Hits ....... Every single one of those tracks is a magical moment in time..... Neal's playing is stunningly amazing ..... and Jon's keyboard performances are locked in rock history forever ......Steve Smith and Ross are a Symphonic R&B - Rock rhythm section....Gregg Rolie's playing and singing and Aynsley's drumming .....Still are and will always be... forever timeless.
And there's one more thing..... everyone should know........
I will NEVER stop believing in all the original and amazing music we created together!

Hi Guys!

I have been just taking all this in and here goes my take on the whole thing.

Journey will never be the Journey it was without Steve.

Steve won't be returning to them any time soon for anything, he does not need that drama anymore.

Neal is in the news not for his band but for his new girlfriend and all that drama.

Steve is happy being Steve and doing what makes him happy.
That makes me happy too, because when Steve was with Journey that music was all worth it!

The music that Journey made then still remains timeless.
That is why they are releasing a Greatest Hits Vol II now.

Good music stands the test of time.
All those years with Steve in the band made Journey a household name.

That is just my two cents for today.

Peace.

Ok, now it's clear. I'm just glad that SP still loves the music they made...there was a time when he couldn't listen to it & it would be sad if that were still true.

Steve won't be returning to them any time soon for anything, he does not need that drama anymore. Nor does the band..Steve brought plenty

Neal is in the news not for his band but for his new girlfriend and all that drama. I agree, not good pub

Steve is happy being Steve and doing what makes him happy. I'm ok with this and I want him to be happy
That makes me happy too, because when Steve was with Journey that music was all worth it! The music is still worth it and they even have great new stuff

That is why they are releasing a Greatest Hits Vol II now. Money grubbing Sony is why. Nothing new to hear

Good music stands the test of time. Yes it does and that is why Journey still provides it live
All those years with Steve in the band made Journey a household name. Cannot argue with that

That is just my two cents for today. That was worth at least 50c

Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

No More Tails - referencing the tails on the tuxedo jackets that were Steve Perry's signature. I'm not sure why the "ma" instead of "mo", although perhaps Neal thought Nomota sounded like an economy class, circa 1980s Japanese hatchback or too close to "No Motor".

I don't think it was ever confirmed, but it first showed up as the Publishing name for Remember Me, which was the first track recorded with Augeri for the Armageddon soundtrack.

Was Remember Me co-written by JC and NS? Usually, each songwriter will have it's own publishing co. included with their names as credit.

It does come off as silly now, but if you consider the time, it was the first song that they got to record after the two year post-TBF debacle. Lots of bad blood was still spilling.

Uhhh...is it just me or are SP and the J Boys "playing nicely" together lately? At least in the press they are very complimentary of each other...hmmm.

In my recollection, Steve has ALWAYS been very complimentary of Jon and Neal in their musical abilities. He stumbles over himself when he talks about Neal's playing. And well he should.
As far as a person tho, in my opinion, Neal is below dog doodoo. But that's neither here nor there. Steve's always taken the high road when it comes to the press. He is a class act in that way.
