Great interview, Andrew.
First reaction: Perry has quite the potty mouth.

But that was the most raw and unchained perspective I've ever read from him. Great job all around.

Thanks Andrew.....it was a really good read, you should be proud.

I have always thought he just shutdown....and I guess it was the right assumption.

I hope he can find his way to come back and give us more to enjoy...but I love what we already have.

It seems he is at peace with his time with Journey and with the members of the band and he even seems to admit

that they needed to go on without him...and they did.

Loved the JSS kudos!!!

Great Job!!!

Thanks again!

I didn't think you could top your last few interviews but this one was just off the chain. I was wondering though at times, who was interviewing who?

You did an amazing job Andrew. This was the interview I've been waiting for. You really got him to open up and speak from his heart unlike the more recent interviews he's given that sounded scripted. I'm so glad he didn't say I owe you money when you passed him a compliment (LOL)

Your interview was fresh and heartfelt and honest and I loved reading it!

I especially liked that he mentioned enjoying the bootlegs of his FLOTSM tour ... dunno why ... just do.

Awesome job!

Ummm, you don't happen to have audio do you???

Wow! I really did not expect that. He was so open. He must have felt at ease with you. I was totally shocked when he talked about some of that stuff. It was a great interview, Andrew. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.

I had to put on a Journey/Steve Perry playlist and read the interview. I really enjoyed it, Andrew. Excellent, excellent read. Loved the stuff where he talked about some of the songs and their meaning/his thoughts on them. That's a rare treat. (From "Raised On Radio," I would have loved to hear him talk about "Why Can't This Night Go On Forever"...)

Lots of interesting tidbits for sure, but I thought this quote was interesting:

So I cannot think of anything more than finishing my studio and recording this music that I have laying around. I can't think of anything more important right now than that in my life.

I hope he can break through his personal barrier and finish some music and share it with his fans.

Congrats on a job well done!

Great interview Andrew & Congrats..

By the end...I don't know why but...was kinda relating you two..to the Skipper & Gilligan..
(his lil Buddy)...lol & NOT an insult...
Almost like ya had been buds for years..the way the interview seemed to flow so easily
and naturally...

Some of Steve's answers..he needs to ..use ...as they would make some great lyrics for a song or two..
Great hearing from him & his thoughts on recent stuffies... :D
Anyhoo...Thanks to Andrew, Steve , Lora FA, & Ehw & all who participated in any way..

:D :D

Ah, Brilliant! Loved it! Thanks, Andrew! I have to say I think he must be the most passionate person that I can think of. I'm so happy to hear him be so open & honest about so much and to even admit to the highs and depths of being an emotional person (I hear ya)..just brings comfort to me...'tho I don't wish anyone depression 'cuz it sucks!! I just think that it is part of our make-up, who we are...altho' it is probably more 'acceptable' for him to be since he is an artist & can channel it into songs whereas I may be just crackers. Anyway, I think this has to be the best interview he has ever given. It is so true that you can love someone/s and not want to actually hang with them...personally, I can think of many family members/friends...once we were able to get along, but then we grew up and had different ideas about things...so, it's perfectly normal for he and the band to be the same.
And, oh to even hear him sing...WOW, for you Andrew - bet you weren't expecting that! :)
Yeah, I'd like to hear whatever he has even if he thinks it sucks. lol.

This was probably the best Perry interview ever, and I did not expect anything this good. Lots of bits I've never heard before, and Andrew really made Steve comfortable and got him wanting to talk, and I have a feeling that's not easy with a guy like Steve.

Super job, Andrew!

So did Brian May....and, Sammy Hagar, 5 months before Jeff was let go.
Great interview, Andrew.

What else can I add...that was just awesome!! :) Lots of insight into what makes him tick and why things happened the way they did. Especially loved the part about Running Alone...that's always been one of my favorite lyrics from any song.

Thank you Andrew and everyone else involved! Great job!

Thanks for the best Perry interview in 15 years, Andrew. I'm really happy that you got to cross this one off your list. And what great validation for those if us who saw what JSS could have brought to the band.
