Listening now...thanks for posting info!

One common theme through all these interviews is how much he is in awe of Neal (well his guitar ability, haha!). Do you think he is just now realizing it?

I'm glad he seems happy. He seems to be at peace with a lot of the stuff from the past. I am glad he has found so much appreciation in the music.

Listened to the interview this morning. It was about the new GH2 releases and Street Talk releases and pretty much the same old stuff but Steve did talk about his GF. He said that he and his GF were on a hike and before they went on the hike they had a spat and Steve was like men make mistakes I make mistakes and he was trying to think of a way to make up and as they were hiking his GF said I know what I want and Steve said what and she told Steve sing Open Arms and Steve was like Whaaat! LOL and she said no one is around we are hiking alone sing Open Arms and then Steve started to sing on the radio Lying beside you here in my arms and he said then his GF sang with him. Said it was fun. Awwwwww He also talked about the emotions of doing the GH2 and Street Talk on vinyl. Said some great things about Neal and the band. :D

I will try to catch the interview, but did he expand anymore on releasing the Beatles cover and how did he sound singing Open Arms?

Steve didn't talk about the Beatles cover Uncle Joe mentioned at the very end of the interview. Steve sounded great when he sang 2 lines of Open Arms.

Just listened to it on youtube. Steve didn't say anything more about the Beatles cover, just Joe Benson mentioned it at the end along with the "50 songs".
Well, that was cute that his gf wanted him to sing to her to make-up...good idea. :)
Does anyone know what the background music was on the last part before DSB...was it a NS solo instrumental?

Bandalero, off of (I believe) Beyond the Thunder. I thought it was quite ironic that they played a NS solo song. :)

Really enjoyed this interview. Yes, it was much of the same that has been said/written over the past month or so. But it's really nice to hear him praise the entire band for everything that's represented on the new releases. He's a lot more honest about himself and his feelings for the band than he's ever been. I respect how he took all of Schon and Cain's past concerns about the music (i.e. while they were writing it originally) into consideration while putting together the latest releases.

Call me crazy but something tells me that, especially after hearing this interview and the compliments that have apparently have gone back and forth between camps, that we might be hearing something new from Steve and Journey together again before we hear any new solo material. I'm not saying a reunion tour, new material, or even a public appearance. But maybe a one-off meeting in the studio. All the boys together again without anyone else around except for a couple of cameras, recording them shooting the shit and noodling around together on the classics. One final get-together, no pressure and all fun, recorded for DVD/Blu-ray.

I'd take that in a heartbeat.

I, also, enjoyed this interview. He was more open about things then he was in the past. But I don't hold out much hope of Steve joining Journey for 1 final show. He may have kept the concerns the Jon and Neal would have in mind when putting together the music. His praise for the guys and what they did is long overdue. But that doesn't mean he will join them. As Steve said, both camps have moved on. As it should be. Thank you Steve.

If you want the snippet of Steve's "singing," it is at about 5:42 of the third part on youtube:

I don't mean joining them for a show...but rather just a get together in a studio setting. No audience, just an opportunity to chat reminisce, and jam just a bit. Sort of like what Paul, George and Ringo did back in the 90's. For their own purposes and for closure.

It sounded to me like Neal was also softening up and has been offering kinder words to Steve as of late. If Neal sees a way to make money off of something magical like this, he'll pursue it. And my feeling is that the only way Steve would do such a thing is in a private setting, with no pressure to perform a show.

Again, just a fantasy of mine, but it does seem somewhat do-able as opposed to an actual reunion gig.

I agree that this would be the most likely scenario if we were ever to see a reunion of Journey and Steve Perry. Crazier things have happened, but I won't hold my breath. Would be very cool, though.

Steve sounds awesome here and just like I thought would eventually happen, all of the members are softening up. They all had to get past the hate. Anyone who has hated someone understands what I mean. I do think they will work together again in some kind of form. Just writing together would do wonders for this band as they are certainly missing Steve's input.
