If Perry is in there... I can't hear it....

I think he's in the 'love it' and 'of it' parts that come in before the 'na na nas.' At least that's the only part where I can detect a deeper, huskier voice than hers. :?

Just downloaded my copy through FB and played it in my iTunes - can't quite tell where Steve's located in the mix, but its a catchy tune, nonetheless ...

Glad they offered it as a free download - I wouldn't wanted to have to buy the entire CD just to get the one track w/ Steve ...

This seems like another one of his sidebar projects where he will help an artist with production / writing / mixing, etc. and sing backgrounds -

1. David Pack (2005) - A Brand New Start
2. Guff (2006) - I Can See It In Your Eyes

He's done plenty over the years prior to these, but I believe these two are the most recent examples of this type of guest appearance / cameo ...

If anyone has any other ones in this time frame or more recently, please feel free to share ...

Best Regards,

Michael

Perry's vocals on the David Pack song are great, and clearly audible.. and the while CD is well worth the money...

Yes, I have the David Pack cd - excellent CD, even without Perry's contributions (although appreciated) ... I bought it because I love Ambrosia / David Pack, AND of course, it had a new track w/ Steve Perry on it - still very rare ...

After that, he did a track with the punk band, GUFF, the next year (recorded in 2006, released officially in 2007), as their remake of "I Can See It In Your Eyes", the bonus track from Journey's TBF cd - the original track should have been on the CD to begin with - one of Journey's most hard-rocking tunes in a LONG time, IMHO ...

Still, he did a good enough job re-doing it GUFF as background vocals and production ...

On the David Pack CD, his vocals are very clear, up-front in the mix (more like co-vocal lead instead of backgrounds, etc.) - a stronger contribution to this track ...

In some ways, I cconsider the David Pack cut to be the last real track that he recorded and released commercially ... Hard to believe that came out in August of 2005 ....

Anyhoo, its great to have Steve back in whatever limited form he chooses - working on Journey Remaster projects, interview promotion (radio and print) the last 4 months, and now, this track with Csssidy / Boheme ...

Somehow, in spite of the fact that he says he's building a recording studio in his home, and that he's also recorded a Beatles cover tune, Idon't really feel that we'll see this new music released ... My gut tells me that we'll continue to have print and radio interviews for a long time, and occasional one-off tracks with co-vocals / backgrounds, etc. like these, going forward ...Of course, I really do hope I'm proven wrong, but if not, we'll have to be happy with the music, and other gifts (interviews, remaster compilation projects, DVDs, etc.) that he's given us over the years ...

Best Regards,

Michael
