Steve Perry’s Rock and Roll Birthday!

Journey’s Steve Perry celebrates his 63rd birthday today. Born in Hanford, California-part of the “Inland Empire”, he played drums in marching band, sang first tenor in his college choir, struggled for many years-almost gave up the business and then…and then he found “his voice”.

As lead singer for Journey, thru all the million-selling hits and multi-platinum albums; Steve Perry established himself as one of, if not the, premier lead singers in the history of rock and roll. And no one, no one-ever sang the power-pop ballad like Steve.

Risking the wrath of Tony Soprano-here is my favorite Journey song, “Faithfully”. When you do it live, this well, that’s where the rubber hits the road. Happy Birthday, Steve-thanks for the music.
