‘No reunion plans’: Journey’s management forcefully denies Steve Perry rumors

Journey’s management is pushing back on the impression that a reunion with Steve Perry is in the works, days after quotes from their former frontman sparked a series of overhyped headlines.

“No reunion plans,” reps with the band tell MelodicRock.com. “All is well in the Journey camp.”

Neal Schon and Co. are, in fact, preparing for a summer tour also featuring Steve Miller and Tower of Power. They have been working with Arnel Pineda since 2007, having recorded two studio efforts with the Filipino frontman — 2008′s Revelation and 2011′s Eclipse, both of which went Top 20.

Perry, meanwhile, hasn’t worked with the group since 1996′s Trial by Fire, and hasn’t released any solo music since 1994.

Still, the roughly two decades Perry spent together with Journey saw unprecedented success. They sold more than 20 million records in the U.S. over the course of the 1980s alone.

So, it seems, questions about getting back together will remain.

Asked about it once more recently by Artisan News, Perry got some fans going by saying “we’re trying,” and “I’m doing my best,” in reference to return to the fold with Journey — but all of that is prefaced by this: “I haven’t worked with Neal, no.”

THINK the media hypers took it out of context...
