Warning: this will be a long-ish post...I can literally die right now because I just met Steve Perry at the Burbank Aaron Bros. while buying frames. I totally fan-girled out and had to have this conversation with him about how Stone In Love has been my favorite song since I've been 8 years old. And how Journey had literally shaped my life. Then he told me the story of how he wrote the lyrics. He said he was down at the river when he was 20 and was in love with this girl, Judy. But Judy never liked him, she liked Eddie, a jock. She was wearing denim cut off shorts with no underwear and that was all he needed! And the lyrics "In the heat with a blue jean girl" and "golden girl, I'll keep you forever" were some of the best lyrics he's ever known. I probably scared him because I told him I loved him so much and that my heart was beating so hard. He was so gracious to have a great conversation with me and take a pic. Thank you, Amy Romero-Marotta for making me go and get your bday present from Aaron Bros. today! Of course, I just came from the gym and look like crap, but I am soo happy!!!
