Steve Perry in Regards to Prince

Postby FezzyChic » Wed May 04, 2016 10:10 am

It occurred to me when I heard that Prince had a double hip replacement and had been on pain management and had possibly died from the excess use of the pain medication that Steve had undergone the same surgery! I wonder if Steve's fans know how strong Steve must have been through all of that, living with the pain and bypassing the pain management all together or tolerance issues that arise with chronic pain! At the time Steve was dealing with the public's disappointment that he wasn't performing and pressure and anger from Journey members!
I just wonder if Steve's fans know how strong Steve is to have gone through that surgery in a state of depression, and keep himself from sinking with all of the pain! I just want to say this because I am so thankful that Steve is whole and strong and still giving music to his fans!!

Amazing how there are those who can avoid addiction! There are so many components attributed to that affliction and it perhaps was something in his biology or personality or environment which saved him from being held captive by drugs. Even good doctors fail to understand or realize thoroughly what they may be doing to those who complain about how much pain they are suffering and want relief immediately . I am astonished Prince got lost in the drugs. Truly amazing but again may be not that Mr Perry avoided addiction. I know a few people on those pain killers and it always seems they want instant relief from pain, doctors really have to want what is the best treatment for their patient and not just wanting to stop them from complaining. I would guess there was a lot of focus beyond the pain and instead upon experiencing and living with wellness.

I agree with you Marabelle! It's unknown really the situation with Prince regarding the pain medication. I was more moved by the realization that pain medication could become a serious problem in regards to hip replacement! Because just because you have the hip replaced does not mean that you are never going to deal with pain from that surgery again. It may well be chronic!

With that said, I admire Steve for remaining healthy whilst all the while dealing with many emotional, personal and business matters in his life along with physical challenges and pain!

It's more than 'right on' to say that Steve can truly sing, Don't Stop Believing' . . . From the depth of his seriously strong and independent heart !

:D :D :D

Fezzy, you are such a wonderful loving person; I hope those that are around you understand what a truly great person you are! We've been friends it seems like forever and each time I chat with you it is so refreshing to hear what you have to say and to read your truly heartfelt words about this man. He's got a friend indeed. Not those creepy fans that lurk and unceremoniously pops out at you but someone who is truly concerned and cares about his personal well being and will give him whatever space he needs to exist. Yes, pain is an amazing thing but with pain or should I say within the pain there is always some small place or a sliver of time where you hopefully can realize that there is an opportunity for you to heal and be a better and stronger person as well as get closer to your faith in the midst of all of that agony and pain. People get lost in the hurt and seek instantaneous relief. You have to be a strong minded willful person and focus on getting out of the maze of agony We're all tested again and again in some way or fashion and things which seem unbearable eventually as with everything will lead us to a better place if we can be patient and believe.

Dearest Marabelle,
Just want to take a moment to wish you a wonderful Mother's Day! Your children are so beautiful and you are an amazing mother with your great mind and giving heart :) As for your very nice words regarding Steve, I am not a great friend of Steve's or even a fanatical fan :) I just have so much fun jabbering with you and admire Steve's work so much that I come here to carry on about his highness with the beautiful soul and voice because it's a hoot :)
If we didn't put our crazy posts over here . . . this place would be nearly empty, BUT, you may be right about the carrying on and perhaps it will irritate the artist or maybe even the fans in some way since this is basically a factual site meant for information regarding Steve :) We are using it like it's a forum and perhaps we should communicate elsewhere :) I'll contact you on another platform and we can ramble on there!!

Enjoy Mother's Day Marabelle . . .
Sending love and hugs your way!
Hope you enjoy the Caribbean :D :D

When the music finally starts . . . .
. . . . . . .Bring Rubber Boots Up To The Knee and Smile Big and Scream Your Head Off

Addiction and its fallout is now creating serious issues for health care providers (doctors and hospitals) in the US. Under new rules in Obamacare, providers are now paid in part based upon patient satisfaction. The more your patients are happy with the care you provided, the higher you are paid by Medicare.

Pain medication addicts are rating providers lower because they won't feed the addiction by prescribing more pain meds. So, because the provider is doing the right thing and not feeding the addiction, they get paid less than those who write the scripts. The law of unintended consequences strikes again.
