It's a wonderful song for a singer to sing and you can learn so much as a vocalist studying and learning the nuances of phrasing that Steve uses.
Thanks also to David Castagna who's beautiful instrumental version of In The Rain that he posted to YouTube was used as the instrumental part of the track.
For what its worth, the vocal was one take and completely unedited (I'm pretty sure if you used any form of AutoTune while singing a Steve Perry song you would instantly be pulled into the deepest region of hell!
