Rolling Stone Traces Acoustic Interview

Postby Art Vandelay » Sat Dec 05, 2020 2:47 am

A really nice interview, with Steve explaining in detail about the album and breaking down each song, track by track.

I really love this updated version of the album. Very pure and organic sounding. Yes, most of the vocal tracks are the originals, but the vocals really stand out and you hear a lot of nuances that you were not able to hear in the original version. I believe new vocal layers were added to some songs as well.

I lost my wife in February, so I can relate to a lot of this album. The new version of You Belong To Me is as raw and passionate a vocal performance as it gets. It totally gutted me when I heard it. But that's ok. It's nice to be able to relate to someone sometimes.

Thank you for posting the interview. I am actually really enjoying this album a little more than the original. Many people have noted that Steve's voice really shines and comes through on these stripped down versions. Maybe he will do a stripped down tour, who knows?
