Postby Colango99GT » Wed May 18, 2005 5:15 pm

I heard the new Bon Jovi is coming out in June.....anybody heard a new single? I hope maybe this album will rock out a little bit more than "Bounce" I liked Bounce, but there were too many ballads.

New album........

Saw the tracklisting for the new Bon Jovi cd. Noticed the track "Last Man Standing". I presume this is the same track that is on the box set of rarities "100,000,000 Fans Cant be Wrong"???? If it is, defintely a great song!!

No comments about the Live8 performance? Sounded great to me. Really sad when you compare Def Lep to BJ. Jon's voice sounds as good as it did 20 years ago. Same cannot be said for Joe...

I've decided to browe around. Hope you don't mind Neal. :P

Funny you should say this. I just took a peak at Bon Jovi's tour schedule.

Tour Appearances
Date Location Venue Notes
No Tours are scheduled

That's what I found.
The Lepp's are touring and playing almost every night last month, this month and next month.....an intelligent person would think that would have an affect on his vocal chords.

Really sad indeed Neal.

If that excuse makes you feel good, Trinity, than I am glad. I am sure that is what it is.

I thought Joe was a professional singer who could handle the rigors of touring. Hopefully his voice sounds good on the new covers CD, since it was recorded before he had to strain his voice so much. :P

Vocal chords can only take so much Neal. Professional or not.

I'm a professional ball buster but even I have to take a break every once in a while...LOL

Bon Jovi debuted the single like 6 months ago on either the Grammys or the AMA's. "Have A Nice Day" sounded GREAT. An up-beat, up-tempo rocker with a little attitude I have not heard from the guys in a while!

I think Jon sings through his NOSE now. He is very nasally live, especially with the higher notes. It is a good thing Richie sounds so great harmonizing with him.

As for Joe Elliot, remember that Mutt really pushed him to extend his range, forcing him to sing higher than Joe thought he could. That is probably what has led to the decline in his voice over the years. Also, to be fair to Joe, Def Leppard has been touring since 1981. Bon Jovi has been touring since 1985 (or so). Although it is quite possible that Bon Jovi have played more shows.

I will say that Jon Bon Jovi has been a consumate professional for YEARS! He has taken care of himself, his voice and his business for 20 years. I am not sure their is a more professional person or band in the business.

So you are saying that in less than three months on the road, Joe has strained his voice? That is a poor excuse. Bon Jovi will likely hit the road for a TRUE world tour that will last near a year and probably include more than 200 dates (I am guessing based on the past). In that time I do not believe you will hear the same affects as NiG is referring to.

But, look up to my previous post and you will see what I think is the reason/justification for Joe's voice.

You know how DL are in the studio...I am sure Joe's vocals will sound great on the CD. (It is the material I am concerned with) ;)

I was stunned to see that this was the only thread on this page!
Bon Jovi has been around a long time so you would think they had a forum of their own for quite a while, I guess not.
I am sure it will pick up though, once people realize it is here.
