Could be the demos Gene Simmons produced of the band before they recorded their classic album with Ted Templeman. I know there's a website called "classic van halen" that has some of them as mp3s.

So many demos and bootlegs, so little time. Oh, wait, I don't have a Halen concert to go to. What am I thinking?
