VH first cd awesome, after that, I could care less to listen to them. 1984 awesome again, back on top. Sammy comes along, 5150, awesome, OU812-great, as with the rest, except for F.U.C.... cd that was to good, but had acouple of really good songs. And still better than any of the VH cds between VH 1 and 1984. Sammy brought better music and lyrics to the group. What was missing thought was Dave's personna. Dave was a way out there front man, and the center of attention in the band. A lot of fans do not see that in Sammy. Sammy demands attention too, but not the way Dave did. Sammy has made the group more of a rock band, with out the flashy frontman show. Sammy can strap on a axe and start playing with Eddie. Dave can pick up a axe and start swining it around, and acting silly, maybe even chop some wood. And people would like to see Dave do that, instead of listening to some great rock.-ERIC

They will NEVER be back on top. This tour was a money hunger joke and a slap in the face to every real fan. We all know Eddie Van Halen has lost his freakin' mind. He has single handedly driven one of the greatest rock bands in history down the crapper, and had no remorse over it.

If they had come to my part of the world, I would definitely have gone to see them. The 'slap in the face' to me was the period of inactivity with no news from the band.
Eddie may or may not have lost his mind - if he has, he wouldn't be the first or the last musical genius to do so, going right back to Mozart.

Bring on a new VH album in 2005!!

I dunno Wardy......since 1998 VH have been largely dormant, and there was no news coming out of the band.......the internet was literally awash with fans complaining about that. (I may have even been one of them a couple of times)
Now the band is actually playing live again, which many people thought would never happen, and people are STILL complaining!!

Oh I agree! After believing it would never happen, the return of the band had me on the phone to Andrew yelling 'You f***'n beauty', and first liten to It's about time had me back on the phone thanking Andrew for the link and us promising each other if they toured Oz we'd be there! Hmmm...

Anyhows, already things have slowed, but you're right, who woulda thought? I think there's a good chance of a new studio album in 2005 regardless of the bands current climate. I think the past 6 months have proven with VH ya just never never know!

I share your enthusiasm.

Van Halen will never be what they once were from 74-84 when they were rocking the clubs, rocking the arenas & releasing six important & influential timeless classic rock albums. I would like to see Eddie & Dave onatage one more time speaking an as old VH/DLR era fan but it's never going to happen again after the 96 reunion debacle. I predict Eddie Van Halen will release his first official solo album in about 3 years & go on his first solo tour with his brother Alex on drums while the legendary rock group known as VH is history after this tour.

VH needs to make a new album with Sammy, and do their very best on it. If it takes longer to make, it takes longer to make! I felt like the lyrics were rushed on the 3 new songs last year. Since they were not up to usual VH standards.

After they make a great album, they need to promote it. Go on every show they can, Letterman, Leno, Conan, and every rock radio show that will have them, and they need to make a few video's too. They should also make a new live DVD!!!!!!!!!!! It's about time!
