Europe DVD - LIVE FROM THE DARK (what happend here!?)

I bought it today, and I also took it back to the shop today. I never seen DVD in recent times shot this badly. The picture quality is so grainy, as if it were shot with a cheap digital camera (my Digitil camcorder has better picture quality) and mine is only worth $750 AUD.

The camera work was all over the place, jumping up and down, left, right, up and down (complete amature work). I couldn't believe this, i've seen better bootlegs. I felt so ripped off I had take it back and get a fefund.

I have the JOURNEY 2001 DVD, and thats just a good example of excellence and brilliant production qaulity, once you've seen the best produced concerts its really hard to go backward, no matter who the band are.

Kind of a surprise to hear this. I never would have expected something like that from the guys. The record company must have been quickly cashing in...

An "official bootleg" was offered for TNT a while back on their website. Yet it turned out that the band knew nothing about it. Apparantly the DVD was simply a poorly transferred collection of videos taped off the tv... I hope Europe did not run into a similar problem...

I think I'm getting the DVD when it gets it's US release, so I'll be able to judge for myself.

Yeah I was shocked aswell. The packaging is not so bad either, but I think I was probably not in the best mood that day. Yeah, the DVD fails to capture the LIVE feel. The vocals and perforance were top-notch! for sure, no problem if we were actually there LIVE in the flesh :) looked like hell of a concert.

I read another couple reviews on amazon.com, and they said basicly the same thing as I did.

Hmm, I was actually at this concert and it was a kick-ass show on the night, albeit the stage was very dark and not much lighting at all to speak of...i wonder if this was behind a lot of the shoddy images?

I've not seen the DVD yet, but will no doubt buy it as a momento of the gig. If i'm honest, i'm looking forward to the forthcoming Whitesnake gig more as i was at that show too...same venue as the Europe gig in fact!
