I hope more of their new stuff sounds like this. The new single sounds totally different from where they were going last year with this song.

I agree GB, I'm not too excited about that single... It's got me worried about the album, but I'm hoping that it was just a poorly chosen song and that there are several kicking songs in there.

After interviewing Jeff Pilson for my college radio show, I have developed somewhat of a relationship with Foreigner's publicist. (Periodic e-mails sent back and forth.) I actually asked him about this, and he confirmed that the band is, A) going for more of a Adult Contemporary crowd & B) playing off of Foreigner's reputation for ballads.

He definitely said there was a BIG plan for promoting this album, and that it is all being done for a reason (as you would expect).

Regardless, the song is taking some time to grow on me too.

I really want to see them hit it out of the park but it's going to be tough. They won't have the instant ethnic fan base that Journey picked up with their singer and his hard luck story. I do think Kelly is a real pro and have noticed in some of their interviews that he is not afraid of speaking or being a little assertive. I can see them going after the A/C crowd, that's where Journey Journey and Reo charted last but I would really love to see them get on the HOT 100 chart some how, some way. That would be a major achievement.
