I had fun trying to figure out that situation, and like you I guessed it must have had been brought in as a used (though new and unopened) CD. Maybe they do take the unopened ones and put them in with the new stock. Still doesn't explain the pricing gaffes. They leave the original sticker on it, then mark it up $5.11 and add "You save $1.99". The shame is Stevew2 might actually fall for that, thinking he's found a hot deal.
Theres also the possibility that Hastings is getting some after market "product"... maybe some overstock that didn't sell? What would be really nefarious is if they bought a certain amount at Wallyworld and then since it was a good seller and is a double disk and CD they might have thought they would be able to make a good profit by marking it up when it's no longer available at Walmart.....and someone forgot to take the stickers off. Would be more telling if it's found new in shrinkwrap in other Hastings.
Hmmmm....points to ponder...

But then again...like I said...it could have simply just been someone who got it as a gift and already had it or didn't want it and traded it in.
