KISS is the wildcard here. Dave Marsh, who along with Jann Weiner practically run this thing, has been quoted for years as saying "KISS is a shitty band, and I'm gonna do my part to keep them out." It's also well documented that Rolling Stone and Weiner have had a beef with Simmons and Stanley for years. HOWEVER- mark my words! If KISS makes it in, the walls come down and we'll finally see the big AOR bands of the 70's (JOURNEY, STYX, BOSTON, etc) get in. AND- I think Genesis will help pave the way for bands like RUSH and YES (also much deserving).

That's what I thought when VH got in...

The fact the Moody Blues and Yes are not in there is an absolute crock.

Plus Rush, The Guess Who, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, and many more.

At least Genesis and KISS are getting a proper shot this year.

The RnR HOF has been a joke for years ! Half who are in have what success exactly? Did they have long careers, sell millions of albums, fill stadiums, have tons of radio play? WHO is running it and how can they be fired? They also need to move from Cleveland ! There was goofy music before the Beatles, except maybe Elvis, and many of their selections are too far back to compete with 70-80's music where they actually wrote, played live and had great singers. Sour grapes mixed with incompetence is the RnR HOF.

Never heard of half the people on that list. I think they need to change the name from The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to The Rolling Stone Kiss Ass Club. That's the only reason half of these no names get in.

1.) Because they're not "hip".
2.) Because they touch themselves at night and are dirty sinners.
3.) Because the RNR HOF doesn't take them seriously. And songs like "Like a Sunshower" don't help matters much.

None of the above... I believe the reason why Journey hasn't been inducted yet comes down to two words.........Jan Wenner....... works for/ had worked for Rolling Stone Magazine...and now head of the RRHOF... and we know how that magazine treated Journey... Some of you may not agree with me... but this is my take on it... :D

Yep, it really is because of that slimeball Wenner. You are exactly right and I've talked to some guys in the industry who agree with you, like Jimmy Fox of the James Gang. He says these kinda bands will never get in there as long as Wenner and his cronies run the show.
