Umpires are blowing this game. Polanco never strikes out, and that wasn't a strike. Second, that guy was safe at first. Detroit should be up by one.

I wouldn't write the Angels off so quickly. I think it's hilarious that the media in Boston automatically think the Red Sox are going to win this series easily. Beckett has looked awful in his last couple of outings. Also, the guy has been forced to take several cortisone shots over the past week. That is NEVER a good thing. Bucholz has looked even worse than Beckett in his past two starts and he's their third starter. I'm not sold on this Red Sox team, AT ALL!

I'll refer you to being down 3-0 to NY in '04.
Only thing that scares me is the Halos' running game. Thats it.

I can assure you that I don't need Red Sox history lessons from ANYONE! I've been following the Red Sox religiously for well over 30 years. 2004 has nothing to do with 2009. I've never been a sports fan who simply thinks that just because I like a team, means they're going to win. I think the Red Sox do have a better team than the Angels, but that doesn't mean a thing. The Patriots had a better team than the Giants had two years ago and still managed to lose to them in the Super Bowl! If Beckett isn't healthy and Buchholz doesn't get it together, the Red Sox aren't beating anyone in the playoffs. I'm also not someone who really buys into streaks or one team's dominance over another team. The Red Sox ended their streak in 2004, and all streaks must come to an end at some point! The Red Sox will NOT defeat the Yankees this season, even if they get by Anaheim. I'll be back to the old days of hoping the Yankees collapse in the World Series.

Dude...you can't really be this fucking dopey! You're actually drawing an analogy between the passage of 5 years of time versus two weeks? I hope that you're not serious, because if you are, you can't be taken seriously as a sports fan! Listen...I'm not saying that Beckett is going to impode on the mound. What I am saying is that based on his last two starts, along with the fact that he has now been given multiple cortisone shots doesn't give me a great deal of confidence. If you're a Red Sox fan, then you know the last time Beckett wasn't healthy in the playoffs did not end well for the Red Sox!StocktontoMalone wrote: Oh, and BTW, following something religiously doesn't make you an expert, omniscient, or otherwise Nostradamus.
I never claim to be an "expert" on anything. I simply said as someone who grew up 8 miles from Fenway Park, I don't need history lessons on a team I've been watching most of my life!
