Bands Covering Michael Jackson Since Death

Postby Jana » Wed Oct 07, 2009 5:28 pm

Some bands that were on tour this summer when he died and paid tribute. Interesting to see interpretations of his songs. Post any you know of.

Coldplay in July - great. Loved what they did with the rhythm of the song, the change-up.

Brief melody by U2 of Billie Jean and Don't Stop Til You Get Enough in concert this year

James Morrison - Man In The Mirror

Billie Jean - a slow, bluesy interpretation by Tears For Fears in July, totally different from what I would have expected from TFF.

New Kids On The Block in June. Basically sang it the way Michael does, no new twists.

I'll Be There. Song starts around 3 minute mark.

The Shrouds
The Dirt Naps
Worm Soup
Six Feet Under
The Tombstone Police
Tom Brady IS the G.O.A.T.

They were covering that as part of their show in 1990, though, they simply dusted it off for this.

And I don't believe I just admitted knowing that. Probably belongs in Jim's 'embarrassing" thread.

God I hope Hammett didn't try and cop EVH's legendary solo with his wah wankery and shaky vibrato.

A good Michael Jackson tribute band could pull down some major bank right now.

I can play drums - who wants to play Jacko? We will also need keys, bass, and guitar.

I have a friend who tours local bars doing MJ tribute acts. He's been doing it for like two years too.

I'd play bass but I just sold mine a while back. Anyone wanna let me borrow a bass? Haha.
