Riggins was in 2 SBs....1982 against Miami, and 1983 against Oakland.
Combined, he rushed a total of 64 times in those two games....his longest run was 43 yards, led to a TD. In the other 63 attempts his longest run was NINE yards....hardly what I'd call 'dominant in the playoffs'.
Simply put, he was a possession back/goal line back. If Washington didn't win that SB - he'd never have gotten in.
Riggins was one of THEE best playoff backs of ALL TIME. In 1982, he gained 444 yards in 3 games, rushing for 185 yards (which was a franchise record) in one of them, and rushed for 166 yards when beating Miami in Super Bowl XVII, which he was named MVP. His four consecutive playoff games with over 100 yards was an NFL postseason record. He was the second player ever to rush for over 100 touchdowns in the history of the NFL, next to Cleveland's Jim Brown. This is a no brainer here, dude.
