Endless sequels of Saw movies...

Postby Ehwmatt » Mon Oct 19, 2009 12:16 pm

Ok, I laughed when I heard they were doing Saw 3. I wasn't surprised they did Saw IV to make more $. I laughed even harder when they did Saw V. Now, it's just sad that there's gonna be a VI. Hollywood is truly a joke, the first movie in this series was brilliant and they have been on a progressive downward spiral since. Stop fuckin making these movies, have some pride in your craft and make something new, even if it's not quite the same cash cow.

I liked the first two, but I swore off any more Saw movies after part IV. It was getting ridiculous and completely implausible. I did get to meet Shawnee Smith though, and she's a cutie!

That's exactly the way I felt about Jaws. The first one scared the piss out of me, but then again I was only 9 years old when it came out. I begged my mother to take me so she ended up doing so. I ordered up two hot dogs and by the time I got sat down and ate about half of the first one, the chick got eaten. When they cleaned up the theater that night, someone found one and a half hotdogs under one of the seats. None of the Jaws movies after the first one was any good though.

Same probably goes for "Saw" which I've not seen any of them by the way. Seems to me there are only so many "original" and interesting ways to kill people in those movies. In the 80's it seems like the most popular way in the movies they did it was while a chick and a dude were having sex. While watching those movies, when the clothes started coming off, you knew who was getting "it" next. Do they still follow that monster movie format now adays in these types of movies?

I've never eaten a piece of sushi I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

Saw is extremely cheap to produce and the profit it makes is ridiculous. Eventually-and who knows maybe this time-this movie will run its course but in the meantime the studio would be foolish to stop if its still making awesome profits.
